Surface Acoustic Wave Focusing and Induced Rayleigh Waves
Physical Review Letters, 1995We introduce a new method for observing the anisotropic propagation of surface acoustic waves on solids. Point source and point detection of ultrasonic waves, scanned as a function of propagation angle, give the group velocities and intensities of Rayleigh and pseudosurface waves.

Pulsed nonlinear Rayleigh waves
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1994Pulsed, plane, nonlinear Rayleigh waves in isotropic solids are investigated with numerical solutions of the coupled spectral equations derived by Zabolotskaya [J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 91, 2569 (1992)]. Calculations of waveform evolution are presented as functions of distance from the source and depth within the solid.
