ABSTRACT Planetary nebulae represent a late evolutionary phase of low‐ to intermediate‐mass stars. In this article, we present the serendipitous discovery of a previously unknown, faint potential Galactic planetary nebula (PN) in the constellation Camelopardalis, identified during a survey‐inspection, aiming at the detection of dwarf companions of the ...

On the Method of Harmonic Balance for Lumped‐Element Transformer Models
The steady‐state solution of a lumped‐element transformer model with a dry friction‐like hysteresis model depicting the magnetic core is of interest. The harmonic balance method efficiently solves this stiff system. We derive the harmonic balance algorithm, enhance it with performance and convergence improvements, and demonstrate its efficiency by ...

Spectral measurements of turbulence and gravity waves, part 4.2A [PDF]
Recently, it has become widely recognized that gravity waves play an important role in determining the large-scale circulation of the middle atmosphere. This realization has come about, in large measure, from the realization that Rayleigh friction plays ...

Rayleigh-wave frequency discriminator
A frequency discriminator using two Rayleigh-wave filters and two rectifying networks is described. For each filter, one of the transducers has a finger length varying according to a (sin x/x)2 law, so that the frequency response is almost triangular. The central frequencies of the two filters are different.
