Terahertz Channel Modeling, Estimation and Localization in RIS‐Assisted Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces have become a recent intensive research focus. Based on practical applications, channel strategies for RIS‐assisted terahertz wireless communication systems are categorized into three different types: channel modeling, channel estimation, and channel localization.

Upper-Mantle Shear Velocities beneath Southern California Determined from Long-Period Surface Waves [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We used long-period surface waves from teleseismic earthquakes recorded by the TERRAscope network to determine phase velocity dispersion of Rayleigh waves up to periods of about 170 sec and of Love waves up to about 150 sec.

Twisted MoS2 Bilayers as Functional Elements in Memtransistors: Hysteresis, Optical Signatures, and Photocurrent Kinetics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Layered 2D materials are considered as promising for memristive applications due to their ultimate vertical scalability compared to conventional semiconductor films and pronounced hysteresis properties. Bias‐resolved Raman and Photoluminescence mapping is used to quantify strain from phonon shifts and carrier density from the exciton‐trion ...

Short Note: The ellipticity of Rayleigh waves at infinite depth [PDF]

open access: yesGeofísica Internacional, 2008
I present an analytical formula and an approximation for the ellipticity of Rayleigh waves in a homogeneous half-space at infinite depth in terms of Poisson’s ratio. The result is compared with the corresponding formulas for surface ellipticity.

Holographic Mapping of Orbital Angular Momentum using a Terahertz Diffractive Optical Neural Network

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
A compact six‐layer diffractive optical neural network enables direct recognition and spatial mapping of terahertz (THz) orbital angular momentum (OAM) beams. Fabricated by 3D printing, the system distinguishes nine OAM modes and their superpositions with high fidelity, good efficiency, and low crosstalk, offering a scalable solution for THz ...

Study of Love and Rayleigh waves from earthquakes with fault plane solutions or with known faulting. Part 1. A phase difference method based on a new model of earthquake source [PDF]

open access: yes, 1964
For the purpose of examining the basic assumptions underlying the surface wave method of earthquake mechanism study, we investigated Love and Rayleigh waves from earthquakes with known faulting and/or fault plane solutions obtained from initial motion ...
