Effects of Elevated CO2 on Bean Pod Mottle Virus Infection in Both Incompatible and Compatible Interactions With Phaseolus vulgaris L

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plant viruses cause significant crop losses, a situation that could worsen due to anthropogenic activities driving global climate change, one factor of which is the increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration. This study assessed the impact of elevated CO2 concentration (eCO2, 1000 vs. 400 ppm) on two genotypes of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris

Inhaled iloprost for digital necrosis in systemic sclerosis – an effective alternative

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Case Reports in Internal Medicine
Introduction: Vascular issues in systemic sclerosis (SSc), notably Raynaud’s phenomenon, can lead to digital ulcers (DU) and necrosis, causing pain and infections. Intravenous prostacyclin (iloprost) is used for established DUs.

Suppression of premature ventricular complexes with the PDE5 inhibitor sildenafil: First clinical experience

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract The phosphodiesterase‐5 inhibitor sildenafil suppresses ventricular arrhythmias in a sheep model of drug‐induced long QT. In that study, ventricular arrhythmias were abolished by reducing premature ventricular complexes (PVCs) and delaying PVC onset, thus preventing ‘R‐on‐T’ ventricular tachycardia.

Autoantibodies to angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 in patients with connective tissue diseases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
INTRODUCTION: Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) 2, a homolog of ACE, converts angiotensin (Ang) II into Ang(1-7), and the vasoprotective effects of Ang(1-7) have been documented.

Quantifying microvascular responses to local heating using optical coherence tomography: Comparison between skin sites and sex differences

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Summary of the study design, metholodgy, results and conclusions. Abstract Due to a lack of technical capacity to directly visualise and quantify microvessels in the skin, little is known regarding regional and/or sex differences. We compared diameter, velocity, flow and density at four regional sites using a novel optical coherence tomography (OCT ...

Questionnaire tools for the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome from the patient history [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Introduction: There remains no “gold standard” for the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Clinical diagnosis is often held to be paramount but depends on the skills of the individual practitioner.

Clinical profiles associated with rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease in antisynthetase syndrome: A multicentric cohort study (TYPASS study)

open access: yesJournal of Internal Medicine, Volume 299, Issue 3, Page 365-380, March 2026.
Abstract Objectives To assess factors associated with rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease (ILD) (RP‐ILD) at time of ILD diagnosis in a multicentric retrospective cohort study of antisynthetase syndrome (ASyS). We used a complementary unsupervised approach, hierarchical clustering, to delineate distinct phenotypes among ASyS patients with ILD.

Differential modulation of IL-8 and TNF-α expression in human keratinocytes by buflomedil chlorhydrate and pentoxifylline [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Pentoxifylline (PTX) is a methylxanthine derivative used in a wide range of dermatoses. As well as its hemorrheologic activity, PTX has anti-inflammatory properties.
