The pathogenesis of esophageal dysfunction in scleroderma and Raynaud's disease.

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Investigation, 1972
To determine the pathogenesis of esophageal dysfunction in scleroderma and Raynaud's disease, the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) was tested with: (a) methacholine acting directly at the cholinergic receptor on the muscle; (b) edrophonium, a ...

In Vivo Characterization of Magnetic Inclusions in the Subcortex From Nonexponential Transverse Relaxation Decay

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 38, Issue 6, June 2025.
Nonexponential transverse relaxation decay allows to characterize the spatial distribution of magnetic material within subcortical grey matter tissue. ABSTRACT According to theoretical studies, MRI signal decay due to transverse relaxation in brain tissue with magnetic inclusions (e.g., blood vessels and iron‐rich cells) is expected to follow a ...

Raynaud-Mukai construction and Calabi-Yau Threefolds in Positive Characteristic [PDF]

open access: yesProc. Amer. Math. Soc. 140 (2012), no. 12, 4063-4074, 2010
In this article, we study the possibility of producing a Calabi-Yau threefold in positive characteristic which is a counter-example to Kodaira vanishing. The only known method to construct the counter-example is so called inductive method such as the Raynaud-Mukai construction or Russel construction.

Living With Long COVID: Everyday Experiences, Health Information Barriers and Patients' Quality of Life

open access: yesHealth Expectations, Volume 28, Issue 3, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Long COVID has considerably impacted patients' daily lives, yet qualitative insights in Spain are still scarce. This study seeks to (1) explore patients' experiences and the barriers they face, (2) analyse challenges in accessing accurate information and (3) evaluate the effects on quality of life by examining its dimensions in ...

Weak Averaging of Semilinear Stochastic Differential Equations with Almost Periodic Coefficients [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
An averaging result is proved for stochastic evolution equations with highly oscillating coefficients. This result applies in particular to equations with almost periodic coefficients. The convergence to the solution of the averaged equation is obtained in distribution, as in previous works by Khasminskii and Vrko{\v c}.This version corrects two minor ...

Pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic integration and modelling of oxytetracycline for the porcine pneumonia pathogens Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Pasteurella multocida [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Pharmacokinetic–pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) integration and modelling were used to predict dosage schedules of oxytetracycline for two pig pneumonia pathogens, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Pasteurella multocida.

Clinical Manifestations and Treatment in Patients With Relapsing Polychondritis: A Multicenter Observational Cohort Study

open access: yesACR Open Rheumatology, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2025.
Objective Relapsing polychondritis (RP) is a rare, heterogeneous, multisystem disease lacking standard treatment guidelines. This study describes clinical manifestations in association with approaches to treatment. Methods Adults with physician‐diagnosed RP were recruited into a multicenter observational cohort study.
