A Statistical Mechanics Model to Decode Tissue Crosstalk During Graft Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce a statistical mechanics framework to decode the genomic crosstalk governing plant grafting. By integrating evolutionary game theory with transcriptomics, we reconstruct idopNetworks (informative, dynamic, omnidirectional, and personalized networks) that map scion–rootstock interactions.

Characterization of inflammatory pseudotumors in a large animal model of liver cancer

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
CT images in arterial and portal venous phases of liver lesions in Oncopig. Abstract Background The development of relevant and robust large animal models of hepatocellular carcinoma is needed to test new therapeutic strategies for this disease. Transgenic approaches hold promise in addressing this complex problem. One such model, the Oncopig, has been

Geochemistry and tectonic controls of the effusive activity related with the ancestral Nevado del Ruiz volcano, Colombia [PDF]

open access: yesGeofísica Internacional, 2009
In this paper, we discuss the geochemical aspects and the tectonic setting of the effusive activity between 2.0 to 1.0 Ma (the Ancestral Ruiz stage) of Nevado del Ruiz Volcano (NRV: 4° 50-55’N, 75° 14-20’ W, 5,390 masl), this volcano rises at the ...

Modification of the Continental Crust by Subduction Zone Magmatism and Vice-Versa: Across-Strike Geochemical Variations of Silicic Lavas from Individual Eruptive Centers in the Andean Central Volcanic Zone

open access: yesGeosciences, 2013
To better understand the origin of across-strike K2O enrichments in silicic volcanic rocks from the Andean Central Volcanic Zone, we compare geochemical data for Quaternary volcanic rocks erupted from three well-characterized composite volcanoes situated

A Geochronologic Study of a Granite Pluton from the Llano Uplift, Texas [PDF]

open access: yes, 1962
Granite and related pegmatite and aplite from several localities within a pluton from the Llano uplift, Texas, are being studied geochronologically. Biotite, muscovite, hornblende, microcline, plagioclase, quartz, apatite, and fluorite have been analyzed

Strontium Isotope Zoning in Garnet: Implications for Metamorphic Matrix Equilibration, Geochronology and Phase Equilibrium Modelling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In principle, garnet growth rates may be calculated from 87Rb/86Sr and 87Sr/86Sr measurements in garnet subsamples and the surrounding rock matrix. Because of low Rb/Sr, garnet should passively record the matrix decay of 87Rb to 87Sr as a progressive ...

Provenance of fine-grained sedimentary rocks derived from Rb-Sr and Sm-Nd analyses: the example of the Santa Maria Formation (Triassic, Parana Basin, Southern Brazil)

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Sedimentology and Basin Analysis, 2021
In this work, the Rb-Sr and Sm-Nd methods were applied to fine-grained sedimentary rock samples of the Santa Maria Formation (Triassic, Paraná Basin) in order to have provenance information.
