Theoretical study of energy transfer in Rb(7S) + Rb(5S) and Rb(5D) + Rb(5S) collisions
The European Physical Journal D, 2000We present results of theoretical studies of the non-resonant excitation transfer in Rb(7S) + Rb(5S) and Rb(5D) + Rb(5S) collisions at thermal collision energies. Rb2 adiabatic molecular terms correlating with the 5S+7S, 5S+5D and 5P+5P states of separated atoms were calculated for internuclear distances R > 20 a.u.

Mobilities and interaction potentials for Rb+–Ar, Rb+–Kr, and Rb+–Xe
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1978The mobilities of Rb+ ions in Kr and Xe gases have been measured at 300°K in a drift tube mass spectrometer over a wide range of the ionic energy parameter E/N (the ratio of the electric field intensity to the neutral gas number density). The Viehland–Mason kinetic theory of ionic mobility (valid for arbitrary E/N) is used to derive theoretical ...

Low-velocity elastic scattering of Rb-Rb
Physical Review A, 1997With reference to recent progress in preparing slow and intense Rb beams ({ital rubidium atomic funnel} and {ital low-velocity intense source of atoms from a magneto-optical trap}) we have calculated total and differential elastic scattering cross sections and scattering lengths for ground-state collisions of {sup 85}Rb as well as {sup 87}Rb.

[Energy-pooling collisions of rubidium atoms: Rb (5P(J)) + Rb (5P(J))--> Rb (5S) + Rb (nl = 5D,7S)].
Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2010An experimental study of rubidium energy pooling collisions, Rb(5P(J)) + Rb(5P(J))-->Rb(nlJ') + Rb(5S), at thermal energies, was carried out in a cell. Atoms were excited to either the 5P 1/2 or 5P 3/2 state using a single-mode diode laser. The excited atom density and spatial distribution were mapped by monitoring the absorption of a counter ...

High resolution spectroscopy of84m Rb and86m Rb
Zeitschrift für Physik A Hadrons and nuclei, 1970Gamma radiations from84m Rb and86m Rb, produced by (n, 2n) reaction on85Rb and87Rb respectively, have been studied using a high resolution Ge(Li) spectrometer. Gamma rays of 216.3±0.25, 248.2±0.25 and 464.5±0.25 keV have been found decaying with 20 min half-life and are assigned to84m Rb.

The autoionizing electron spectra in rubidium atoms are investigated in an impact energy range from the excitation threshold of the inner 4p??? subshell up to 660 eV. The energy dependences of the absolute excitation cross sections for ten atomic and one molecular autoionizing states are measured.
