Seismic amelioration of existing reinforced concrete buildings. Strategy to optimize the amount of reinforcement for joints [PDF]
Most of the existing Reinforced Concrete (RC) buildings in Italy were built according to obsolete regulations that were not enough aware of issues related to seismic design so that they need to be upgraded by pursuing either amelioration or full seismic ...

Progressive Collapse Analysis of RC Beams
This paper investigates the nonlinear static analysis for studying the behavior of Progressive failure of RC beams. Nonlinear static analysis is strongly influenced by basic inputs like stress-strain relationship of constitutive materials, P-M yield interaction and moment rotation capacity of members.

Real‐Time 3D Ultrasound Imaging with an Ultra‐Sparse, Low Power Architecture
This article presents a novel, ultra‐sparse ultrasound architecture that paves the way for wearable real‐time 3D imaging. By integrating a unique convolutional array with chirped data acquisition, the system achieves high‐resolution volumetric scans at a fraction of the power and hardware complexity.

Experimental study on flexural behaviors of FRP and steel bars hybrid reinforced concrete beams
To investigate the flexural behaviors of Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) and steel bars hybrid reinforced concrete (Hybrid-RC) beams, twelve beams were designed and manufactured, including one steel bars reinforced concrete (Steel-RC) beam, one GFRP ...

Cyclic response of RC beam-column joints reinforced with plain bars: an experimental testing campaign [PDF]
Existing reinforced concrete (RC) buildings constructed until the mid-70’s, with plain reinforcing bars, are expected to behave poorly when subjected to earthquake actions.

Shear capacity in concrete beams reinforced by stirrups with two different inclinations [PDF]
A model for the estimation of shear capacity in Reinforced Concrete (RC) beams with web reinforcement is provided by introducing a generalization of classical plastic Nielsen’s model, which is based on the variable-inclination stress-field approach.

Damaged RC beams strengthened with GFRP
Abstract In recent years one of the most important duty of civil engineers is to define methods of rehabilitation both for historic and modern structures. Reinforced concrete is a relatively modern material of construction and it is often damaged both with cracking due to loading or corrosion of reinforcement.

Metal‐covalent organic frameworks (MCOFs) are novel porous materials that exhibit the advantages of covalent and metal‐organic frameworks. However, it is extremely difficult to resolve their atomic structure and better understand their structure‐properties relation. This work utilizes a synergistic combination of advanced microscopy, spectroscopic, and
