Modeling of creep in GFRP RC beams

2013 5th International Conference on Modeling, Simulation and Applied Optimization (ICMSAO), 2013
The laws of creep following the Eurocode 2 recommendations are investigated. Analytical study was also conducted including creep under constant stress; successions of increasing stress superposition principle equivalent time and the return creep reloading.

Deflection and ductility of continuous RC beams

Magazine of Concrete Research, 1993
Recent research work by the Author in the fields of deflection and ductility of reinforced concrete beams has shown that in design-oriented procedures both these aspects can be controlled through effective depth-linked requirements. The present study compares the required effective depth to meet a specified deflection limit with the effective depth ...

Postcracking Compliance Analysis of RC Beams

Journal of the Structural Division, 1979
An analytical model for postcracking compliance of rectangular reinforced concrete beams under combined torsion, bending, and transverse shear is established using the skew bending theory. The case of small transverse shear and the case of large transverse shear are treated separately based on widely accepted failure modes.

Experimental Verification of Beam Models For RC

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1994
Four beam models were examined in tests of reinforced concrete (RC) columns failing in flexural yielding with ends rotated independent of each other. A one-component model assuming an elastic member with rigid-plastic springs at critical sections gave the best prediction, although this model slightly underestimated the nondiagonal terms of the ...

Beam Commissioning Experience of CSNS/RCS

2019
The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) is an accelerator-based science facility. CSNS is designed to accelerate proton beam pulses to 1.6 GeV kinetic energy, striking a solid metal target to produce spallation neutrons. CSNS has two major accelerator systems, a linear accelerator (80 MeV Linac) and a 1.6 GeV rapid cycling synchrotron (RCS).

Impact Loading on RC Cantilever Beam

Proceedings of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences
Structural elements are designed to resist several static and dynamic load combinations. On the other hand, impact loading is not considered in the design of these elements. However, failure modes may occur under sudden impact effects. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the impact behaviour of a reinforced concrete cantilever beam.

Nonlinear FE Analysis of RC Beams

2001
ABSTRACT A moment-curvature relationship to simulate the behavior of reinforced concrete beam under cyclic loading is introduced. Unlike previous moment-curvature models and the layered section approach, the proposed model takes into consideration the bond-slip effect by using monotonic moment-curvature relationship constructed on the basis of the ...

Minimum Reinforcement Requirement for RC Beams

1999
ABSTRACT In the present paper different aspects of the requirement for the minimum reinforcement ratio are studied and discussed. The influence of the beam depth is investigated in more.detail. Numerical analysis for reinforced concrete beams of different sizes is carried out using plane finite element code MASA2 which is based on the nonlocal ...
