Experimental Study on Shear Strengthening of RC Beams with an FRP Grid-PCM Reinforcement Layer

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
This paper investigates the shear strengthening effect of a number of reinforced concrete (RC) beams strengthened by a reinforcement layer which combines carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) grid and polymer cement mortar (PCM). A total of ten RC beams,

Shear capacity in concrete beams reinforced by stirrups with two different inclinations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A model for the estimation of shear capacity in Reinforced Concrete (RC) beams with web reinforcement is provided by introducing a generalization of classical plastic Nielsen’s model, which is based on the variable-inclination stress-field approach.

Solvent‐Free Manufacturing of Multifunctional Gas Diffusion Electrode Architectures for Enhanced CO2 Conversion From Low‐Concentration Streams

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A tandem gas diffusion electrode (GDE) leveraging hierarchically engineered microgranules enables efficient CO2 electroreduction under dilute CO2 conditions. A key innovation lies in the solvent‐free precision assembly of metal–organic‐frameworks, carbon nanotubes, and copper nanoparticles.

Strengthening RC beam–column connections with FRP strips [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Structures and Buildings, 2009
Reinforced concrete connections, designed prior to the implementation of earthquake design standards, may be vulnerable to shear failure during a seismic attack. Addition of externally bonded fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites can enhance not just the shear capacity but the deformation and energy absorption capacity of the connection.

Multi‐Functional ZnO–Te Heterojunction Devices Enabling Compact Frequency Quadrupler

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale ZnO–Te heterojunction devices featuring tunable double negative differential transconductance (D‐NDT) are demonstrated at ≤ 200°C. Leveraging this unique characteristic, a single‐stage frequency quadrupler is realized, achieving a 64%–75% reduction in device count.

RC beam strengthening using precast RC plate bonding technique

open access: yesGrađevinar, 2015
The behaviour of RC beams strengthened with precast RC plates of rectangular and U cross-section is studied in the paper. An experimental investigation was conducted to assess effectiveness of strengthening with precast plates. The investigation was supported with the 2-D nonlinear finite element analysis (NLFEA).
