Linear Dynamic Analysis Of Rc Framed Buildings
Multistoried buildings with open ground floor are inherently vulnerable to collapse due to earthquake load, their construction is still widespread in the developing nations due to social and functional need for provide car parking space at ground level. Engineering community warned against such buildings from time to time.

Multi‐Functional ZnO–Te Heterojunction Devices Enabling Compact Frequency Quadrupler
Wafer‐scale ZnO–Te heterojunction devices featuring tunable double negative differential transconductance (D‐NDT) are demonstrated at ≤ 200°C. Leveraging this unique characteristic, a single‐stage frequency quadrupler is realized, achieving a 64%–75% reduction in device count.

FULL AND PERFORATED METAL PLATE SHEAR WALLS AS BRACING SYSTEMS FOR SEISMIC UPGRADING OF EXISTING RC BUILDINGS [PDF]
Metal Plate Shear Walls (MPSWs) represent an effective, practical and economical system for the seismic protection of existing RC framed buildings. They consist of one or more metallic thin plates, bolted or welded to a stiff steel frame, which are ...

Coagulative granular hydrogels are composed of packed thrombin‐functionalized microgels that catalyze the conversion of fibrinogen into a secondary fibrin network, filling the interstitial voids. This bio‐inspired approach stabilizes the biomaterial to match the robustness of bulk hydrogels without compromising injectability, mimicking the initial ...

Seismic vulnerability of RC buildings in Polog valley [PDF]
A procedure for evaluation of seismic vulnerability of RC buildings has been proposed. Applying the nonlinear static “pushover” analysis, the parameters of nonlinear behavior of the selected set of reinforced concrete buildings have been defined.

Comparative analysis of RC irregular buildings designed according to different seismic design codes [PDF]
The present paper presents a comparison of the seismic provisions of the three seismic design codes, namely the Philippine code (National Structural Code of the Philippines or NSCP2010), the European code (Eurocode 8 or EC8), and American code (2009 ...

Understanding the Effects of Conductive Polymer Electrode Coating on Recorded Neural Signals
Conductive polymer coatings are widely explored to improve the quality of signals recorded with chronically implanted neural electrodes, offering enhanced biocompatibility along with reduced electrode impedance. Combining computational modelling and data from PEDOT:PTS coated and PtIr electrodes in rats, we show that improvements in signal quality with

Earthquake Design of Reinforced Concrete Buildings Using NSGA-II
In the present study, the optimal seismic design of reinforced concrete (RC) buildings is obtained. For this purpose, genetic algorithms (GAs) are used through the technique NSGA-II (Nondominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm), thus a multiobjective ...

ASSESSMENT OF SEISMIC SUSCEPTIBILITY OF RC BUILDINGS
Earthquake is one of the most destructive calamities. Many earthquakes in numerous parts of world including India have caused loss of human lives and even damaged many properties causing collapse of structures. Even though one cannot prevent earthquake, the loss caused due to it can be curtailed by adopting appropriate measures.

Percutaneous prosthetic venous valves are fabricated by embedding stents in an electrospun matrix that extends luminally to form leaflets. The design shields leaflets from hyperplastic cells, isolates struts from blood contact, and avoids discrete anchoring points.
