Improved delay time estimation of RC ladder networks

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Fundamental Theory and Applications, 2000
An improved delay time bound estimation is given in this paper for an n-cell RC ladder network with capacitive load. An RC lumped model of the networks is preferred at the design stage, as it gives a faster prediction. We believe that the proposed delay time estimation for the networks will be useful for circuit analysis.

Switched capacitor and active-RC allpass ladder filters

IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002
Ladder-based allpass filters are derived for active resistance-capacitance (RC), switched-capacitor (SC), and digital realizations. The resulting circuits have the properties of parallel structures and very low amplitude sensitivities. The implementations are canonical with respect to the number of opamps or delays and multipliers.

Maximum Gain Realization of an RC Ladder Network

IRE Transactions on Circuit Theory, 1960
This paper is concerned with the synthesis of the voltage transfer function of an unterminated RC ladder network. Given A (p) = \frac{V_2}{V_1} = K \frac{N(p)}{D(p)} the constraint on N and D is well known and the realization procedure is straightforward.

Integrated Variable Gain Amplifier and Active RC Ladder Filters

2007 International Symposium on Integrated Circuits, 2007
An integrated variable gain amplifier (VGA) and low pass filter (LPF) used in RFID reader are being presented here. The design consists of a preamp, a LPF followed by a VGA. The LPF is a fully differential ladder filter with option to switch into 2 modes. First mode is for listen before talk (LBT) mode with passband frequency of 331 kHz. Second mode is

Comments on "Geometric progression ladder RC networks"

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1976
It is shown that a large class of nonrecurrent RC ladder networks including, as a special case, the geometric ladder networks discussed by Bhattacharyya and Swamy can be represented as an equivalent RCG ladder network.

Realisations of matrix transfer functions using RC ladders and summers

IEE Proceedings G (Electronic Circuits and Systems), 1981
The design of a multivariable (multi-input/multi-output) control system or a multiport network often results in a multivariable compensator or a multiport filter which is described by a transfer-function matrix or a matrix transfer function. A state-space approach is presented to synthesise the matrix transfer function, using RC ladders and summers but

Resistance and capacitance minimization in low-pass RC ladder networks

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, 1975
Conditions are given for low-pass RC ladder networks that realize a voltage transfer function with minimum resistance and capacitance. In particular, it is shown that to minimize the weighted sum of resistance and capacitance, the open-circuit ladder is either symmetrical or antimetrical depending upon the structure considered.

Calculation of ‘Elmore’ delay for RC ladder networks

Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1976
A formula denoting the `Elmore? delay of an N-stage RC ladder network is developed. The delay Ted at any stage M of the network is shown to be Ted = RC/2 {N2?(N?M)2}

Comments on "Cost Function Minimization in RC Ladder Networks

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, 1977
In the above paper,’ a proper transformation is presented to generate equivalent networks for the minimization of a weighted sum of total resistance, total capacitance, and the reciprocal gain factor. The derivation of the cost function is incorrect.

Influence of boundary conditions on thermal RC ladder model element values

29th IEEE Semiconductor Thermal Measurement and Management Symposium, 2013
This paper presents an experimental study aimed at the investigation of the influence of boundary conditions on the element values of compact thermal models generated in the form of Cauer RC ladders. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the impact of variable boundary temperature.
