Large Electrogyration Effect in Ferroaxial NiTiO3 at Near Infrared Wavelengths

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A large electrogyration effect (electric field‐induced optical rotation) is observed in a ferroaxial crystal NiTiO3 at near infrared wavelengths. The Ni2+ d‐d transitions, featuring strong magnetic dipole character, play an important role in producing the pronounced effect.

Particle-type dependence of azimuthal anisotropy and nuclear modification of particle production in Au + Au collisions at sqrt[sNN]=200 GeV [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We present STAR measurements of the azimuthal anisotropy parameter v2 and the binary-collision scaled centrality ratio RCP for kaons and lambdas ( Lambda + Lambda -bar) at midrapidity in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[sNN]=200 GeV.

Fabrication Optimization of van der Waals Metasurfaces: Inverse Patterning Boosts Resonance Quality Factor

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
An optimized fabrication approach for the nanostructuring of optical metasurfaces from van der Waals materials like hexagonal boron nitride is presented. The resonator geometries show enhanced geometric homogeneity, resulting in a significant increase in quality factors of symmetry‐protected bound states in the continuum resonances.

Coordinated control of active disturbance rejection and grid voltage feedforward for grid‐connected inverters

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, EarlyView., 2022
This paper introduces the research on the inductance‐capacitor‐capacitor‐inductance grid‐connected inverter using active disturbance rejection and grid voltage feedforward coordinated control technology. The pade approximation is performed on the inductance‐capacitor‐capacitor‐inductance filter to derive the first‐order discretization mathematical ...

Prediction of abundance of forest flies (Diptera) according to climate scenarios RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 in South Korea

open access: yesJournal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity, 2015
AbstractThis aim of this study was to project the future changes of abundance of dipteran families due to climate change using nationwide fly data of surveys conducted for 4 years from 2006 at 295 sites (forests). Most analyzed families (22) showed characteristics that are expected in normal distribution along a temperature gradient in which the ...

Full-Stokes polarimetry with circularly polarized feeds - Sources with stable linear and circular polarization in the GHz regime [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We present a pipeline that allows recovering reliable information for all four Stokes parameters with high accuracy. Its novelty relies on the treatment of the instrumental effects already prior to the computation of the Stokes parameters contrary to ...

Single‐Layer Radially Compartmentalized Paper Chip (RCP‐Chip) for Rapid Isothermal Multiplex Detection of SARS‐CoV‐2 Gene Targets

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
The single‐layer RCP‐Chip enables rapid, multiplexed detection of SARS‐CoV‐2 RNA using RT‐LAMP and gold nanoparticle‐enhanced colorimetric readouts. After sample loading, amplification occurs within radially arranged chambers, allowing simultaneous detection of E and N genes.
