Evaluating the Modified Barthel Index for Policy and Practice in Reablement: Lessons From Australia's Short‐Term Restorative Care Program

open access: yesAustralasian Journal on Ageing, Volume 45, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective The Modified Barthel Index (MBI) is the sole reporting metric required by the Australian Government for the Short‐Term Restorative Care program (STRC). This study investigated the suitability of the MBI as an outcome measure of functioning/self‐care ability in the older Australian reablement context.

Exploring within and between associations of momentary mindfulness and emotion regulation and the moderating effects of mental health among adolescents

open access: yesJournal of Research on Adolescence, Volume 36, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Greater mindfulness is thought to give rise to more positive psychological health through more adaptive emotion regulation. While there is extensive evidence linking higher average mindfulness to lower average emotion regulation difficulties, less is known about the momentary‐level patterns that occur within individuals.

Quality of Life in Patients With Variant Syndromes of Autoimmune Liver Diseases—A Cross‐Sectional Multicentre Study

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background & Aims Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) go along with reduced health‐related quality of life (HRQOL). Variant syndromes, that is, conditions with features of both PBC/PSC and AIH, are associated with higher clinical complexity and worse prognosis. Studies on HRQOL

More Rapid Reduction of Spring Snow Cover on the Western Tibetan Plateau by Emergent Constraint

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 3, 16 February 2026.
Abstract Snow cover is a critical component of climate, hydrological, and ecological systems, particularly in high‐altitude and high‐latitude regions. Global warming has driven substantial snow cover retreat, yet projections from climate models vary widely, hindering reliable climate change adaptation and policy planning.

Reconfigurable Metamirrors Based on Compliant Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 10, 2 February 2026.
Providing the basis for numerous practical applications, the reconfigurability of metadevices is of great importance. Through the integration of controlled mechanical deformation with chiral meta‐atoms, a compliant mechanism based metamirror is demonstrated for active control over the polarization of electromagnetic waves.
