Electromagnetic scattering by layered cylinders --- low frequency reduction of RCS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper we present two different ways of reducing the radar cross section (RCS) of thin metallic wires at low frequencies. This reduction is achieved by adding a dielectric coating on the wire.

Hydroxyl‐Terminated Polybutadiene‐Based Molding Powders as an Alternative Route for Manufacturing Pressed Polymer‐Bonded Explosives

open access: yesPropellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, EarlyView.
This study presents an alternative method to manufacture polymer‐bonded explosives by partially curing an HTPB‐based molding powder prior to compaction. The study shows that the length of partial cure time before compaction directly influenced the geometric fidelity, homogeneity, compressive strength, density, and internal microstructure.

Purification and Properties of Polyvinyl Nitrate and Its Compatibility With Solid Oxidizers

open access: yesPropellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Polyvinyl nitrate (PVN) is a nitrate‐ester energetic binder that can be produced directly from polyvinyl alcohol—a cheap commodity feedstock—thereby offering potential cost and supply‐chain advantages over binders based on nitrocellulose and other specialty polymers.

The Effect of the Wall Thickness of the Material Loaded Cavity On the RCS Reduction

open access: yesDüzce Üniversitesi Bilim ve Teknoloji Dergisi
In this paper, the effect of a parallel plate waveguide's wall thickness on radar cross-section reduction (RCS) is rigorously analyzed for H-polarization by using the Wiener-Hopf Technique, when the waveguide region is loaded with dielectric material and

An Ultra-Wide Band Polarization-Independent Random Coding Metasurface for RCS Reduction

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, a novel ultra-wide band (UWB) random 3-bit coding metasurface with polarization independence has been designed to realize radar cross-section (RCS) reduction.

Relationship between prescription medication use and chronic constipation and chronic diarrhea in US adults: A propensity score matching study

open access: yesPrecision Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
This study aimed to clarify the relationship between prescription medication use with chronic diarrhea (CD) and chronic constipation (CC) in adults. Population data was extracted from the 2007–2008 and 2009–2010 National Health and Nutritional Examination Surveys (NHANES). Multivariable logistic regression was used to calculate odds ratios (ORs) and 95%

Optimizing acupuncture dosing for hormone therapy‐induced hot flashes in cancer patients: A regression‐based analysis and narrative review

open access: yesPrecision Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
Our analysis reveals a clear dose–response relationship between acupuncture sessions and the reduction of hormone therapy‐induced hot flashes. A threshold of approximately 10 sessions establishes a robust quantitative benchmark for achieving clinically meaningful neuro‐autonomic modulation and symptom relief.

Absorptive metasurface with optical transparency for broadband RCS reduction

open access: yesOptics Express
Here, we introduce an optically transparent and flexible metasurface designed for effective absorption within the microwave spectrum. Indium tin oxide (ITO) films with varying square resistances fabricate a metasurface ground layer and a lossy pattern layers.

Urban Housing Markets and Sustainability Risk: Empirical Evidence From South African Cities

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite the global shift toward sustainability and rising expectations for socially and environmentally responsible housing, evidence from South Africa's urban markets remains limited and underexplored. This study examines how sustainability‐related vulnerabilities shape downside housing risk across 60 cities between 2002 and 2021.

Active radar cross section reduction : Theory and applications

open access: yes, 2015
This book discusses the active and passive radar cross section (RCS) estimation and techniques to examine the low observable aerospace platforms. It begins with the fundamentals of RCS, followed by the dielectric, magnetic and metamaterials parameters of
