Visualization of Cellulose Structures with Cesium Labeling and Cryo‐STEM

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Cryogenic ADF‐STEM combined with Cs⁺ labelling of sulfate groups enables direct visualization of individual functional groups within cellulose nanocrystal hierarchies at Ångström resolution. Comparison of experimental Cs⁺ positions with simulations allows localization of labeled sites along glucose chains, advancing structural analysis of beam ...

Enhanced Charge Transport through Ion Networks in Highly Concentrated LiSCN‐Polyethylene Carbonate Solid Polymer Electrolytes

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
The significantly enhanced ion conductivity in highly concentrated solid polymer electrolytes which is 100 mol% LiSCN (lithium thiocyanate) in polymer PEC (polyethylene carbonate) here is a manifestation of combined effects arising from Li‐ion transport through polymer backbone with faster polymer segmental motion and additional faster Li‐ion transport

Beyond Core–Shell Micellar Structures: Complex Structures in Simple Surfactants

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
The structure of Triton X‐100 assemblies is examined and compared with that of C12EO10 micelles. Although both have similar molecular weights and identical hydrophilic segments, in these findings, it is revealed that Triton X‐100 cannot be represented by a singular structure.

Global cross‐database search system for X‐ray absorption spectra

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, EarlyView.
A portal to cross‐search XAFS databases worldwide has been created and the unification of vocabulary and knowledge behind it are discussed. While the importance of a systematic overview of scientific data and demands toward data integration are increasing, data capitalization and confidentiality are also emerging competitively.

Multiword Discourse Markers Across Languages: A Linguistic and Computational Perspective

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Linguistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Discourse markers (DMs) are linguistic expressions that convey different semantic and pragmatic values, managing and organizing the structure of spoken and written discourses. They can be either single‐word or multiword expressions (MWE), made up of conjunctions, adverbs, and prepositional phrases.
