Proximal ureteral fibroepithelial polyp with secondary renal atrophy in a dog (Canis lupus familiaris)

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract A 12‐year‐old, male intact, Papillon dog was presented following trauma from a motor vehicle accident. On arrival, the dog was laterally recumbent with neurological dysfunction (modified Glasgow coma scale 12) and multiple injuries, including right hip luxation and suspected haemorrhage.

Preoperative evaluation of red blood cell distribution width as a promising biomarker for discriminating between benign and malignant breast tumors and assessing breast cancer activity

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology
Background: The red cell distribution width (RDW) has been recognized as a new prognostic factor in various pathophysiological states including breast cancers. The aim of this study was to compare the RDW values between patients diagnosed with benign and

F-RDW: Redirected Walking With Forecasting Future Position

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics
In order to serve better VR experiences to users, existing predictive methods of Redirected Walking (RDW) exploit future information to reduce the number of reset occurrences. However, such methods often impose a precondition during deployment, either in the virtual environment's layout or the user's walking direction, which constrains its universal ...

Multisystem Sarcoidosis Presenting With Hypercalcemia, Lytic Bone Lesion, and Mesenteric Panniculitis in Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
The clinical photograph shows bilateral leg swelling with right‐sided predominance and cutaneous changes. CT images (A–C) demonstrate abdominal and retroperitoneal lymphadenopathy, and image D shows a hypodense lytic spinal lesion, suggesting multifocal disease involving the abdomen, retroperitoneum, and spine.

Red cell distribution width associated with adverse cardiovascular outcomes in patients with chronic kidney disease

open access: yesBMC Nephrology, 2017
Background Recent studies have demonstrated that red cell distribution width (RDW) is associated with cardiovascular (CV) events and mortality. Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are often anemic and have high RDW levels.

Persistent Hypocalcemia in an Anaplastic Thyroid Carcinoma Patient Without Prior Surgery or Radiotherapy: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
Persistent hypocalcemia occurred in a patient with advanced anaplastic thyroid carcinoma without prior surgery or radiotherapy. Multifactorial causes—including vitamin D deficiency, hypomagnesemia, and possible parathyroid dysfunction—led to refractory hypocalcemia, highlighting the importance of early recognition and supportive palliative care ...

Prognostic Value of HALP Score in Rheumatic Mitral Stenosis: A Long‐Term Follow‐up Study

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 4, April 2026.
In 169 patients with rheumatic mitral stenosis, a low HALP score was associated with increased long‐term MACCE risk. The HALP score showed modest predictive value (AUC 0.644) but was not an independent predictor. It may serve as a simple complementary tool for risk stratification alongside established clinical parameters.

Ischemic Colitis Secondary to Mesenteric Arteriovenous Malformation: A Rare Cause of Bowel Ischemia—Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Ischemic colitis is the most common form of intestinal ischemia, typically caused by a temporary reduction in blood flow to the colon. It is often linked to atherosclerosis, low blood pressure, or embolism. We present a case of ischemic colitis with atypical location due to an inferior mesenteric arteriovenous malformation (inferior mesenteric

RDW value may increase the diagnostic accuracy of MPS

open access: yesSiSli Etfal Hastanesi Tip Bulteni / The Medical Bulletin of Sisli Hospital, 2019
As the feasibility of obtaining health care has improved in the last decade, there is an increase in the number of performing unnecessary coronary angiogram. Red Cell Distribution Width (RDW), which shows erythrocyte dispersion volume, is associated with coronary artery disease.
