Anomalous subdiffusion with multispecies linear reaction dynamics [PDF]
We have introduced a set of coupled fractional reaction-diffusion equations to model a multispecies system undergoing anomalous subdiffusion with linear reaction dynamics.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Application of hpDGFEM to mechanisms at channel microband electrodes [PDF]
We extend our earlier work (Harriman et al., Oxford University Computing Laboratory Technical Report NA04/19) on hp-DGFEM for disc electrodes to the case of reaction mechanisms to the increasingly popular channel microband electrode configuration.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

In this work, we consider extended irreversible thermodynamics in assuming that the entropy density is a function of both common thermodynamic variables and their higher-order time derivatives.

Mesoscopic description of reactions under anomalous diffusion: A case study
Reaction-diffusion equations deliver a versatile tool for the description of reactions in inhomogeneous systems under the assumption that the characteristic reaction scales and the scales of the inhomogeneities in the reactant concentrations separate. In

Asymptotic behaviour of reversible chemical reaction-diffusion equations [PDF]
We investigate the asymptotic behavior of the a large class of reversible chemical reaction-diffusion equations with the same diffusion. In particular we prove the optimal rate in two cases : when there is no diffusion and in the classical "two-by-two ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

A hybrid approach for piecewise fractional reaction–diffusion equations
In this paper, the Caputo and Atangana–Baleanu fractional derivatives are handled to introduce a type of piecewise fractional derivative. More precisely, a linear combination of the Caputo and Atangana–Baleanu fractional derivatives are considered in ...
