CONDITIONS AND REACTIONS DEFINING DYE BACTERIOSTASIS [PDF]
The continued study of bacterial cells from the point of view which assumes that they behave as conjugated proteins (Stearn and Stearn, 1924a and b) has led to an intensive study of the action of both basic and acid dyes in their bacteriostatic and staining reactions.

ABSTRACT Background L‐asparaginase is a critical component in treatment protocols for pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Acute pancreatitis reactions can necessitate delays and, in some cases, discontinuation of L‐asparaginase, which compromises outcomes.

Reaction zones and their structure in MILD combustion [PDF]
Three-dimensional direct numerical simulation (DNS) of turbulent combustion under moderate and intense low-oxygen dilution (MILD) conditions has been carried out inside a cuboid with inflow and outflow boundaries on the upstream and downstreamfaces ...

Transketolase reaction under credible prebiotic conditions [PDF]
A transketolase reaction was catalyzed by cyanide ion under prebiotic conditions instead of its modern catalyst, thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP). Cyanide ion converted fructose plus glyceraldehyde to erythrose plus xylulose, the same products as are formed in modern biochemistry (but without the phosphate groups on the sugars).

MYCN Amplification in RB1‐Inactivated Retinoblastoma: Association With High‐Risk Features
ABSTRACT Background MYCN amplification occurs in a subset of retinoblastoma cases, both with and without RB1 inactivation. It has been suggested that retinoblastomas with MYCN amplification represent a distinct entity with more aggressive clinical behavior.

ABSTRACT Secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a common complication in patients receiving maintenance dialysis, driven by calcium and phosphate metabolism disturbances. Calcimimetics are central to the management of SHPT by enhancing calcium‐sensing receptor sensitivity and reducing parathyroid hormone secretion.

Highly Diastereo- and Enantioselective Allylboration of Aldehydes using alpha-Substituted Allyl/Crotyl Pinacol Boronic Esters via in Situ Generated Borinic Esters [PDF]
Readily available, alpha-substituted allyl/crotyl pinacol boronic esters often give low E/Z selectivity (with Z favored) in reactions with aldehydes. We found that addition of nBuLi to the pinacol boronic ester followed by trapping of the alkoxide with ...
