Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Ion-exchange mechanisms and interfacial reaction kinetics during aqueous corrosion of sodium silicate glasses

open access: yesnpj Materials Degradation, 2021
The ion-exchange and associated interfacial reaction mechanisms of silicate glasses are critical in elucidating their aqueous corrosion behaviors, surface modification and property changes, hence have potential impact on both science and technology. This

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Physico-Mechanical Properties of Geopolymers Based on Fly Ashes and Waste Broken Glass

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper presents the results of testing the insulation performance of geopolymers based on fly ashes with the addition of waste broken glass. The waste glass was dried and ground to a maximum of 1 mm grain size.

Recycled Glass as Aggregate for Architectural Mortars

open access: yesInternational Journal of Concrete Structures and Materials, 2018
The possibility of recycling mixed colour waste glass as it is for manufacturing decorative architectural mortars, has been investigated. In mortars, the 0–33–66–100% of calcareous gravel volume has been replaced with recycled glass cullets, with no ...

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Composites Obtained by Spark Plasma Sintering of Al–Fe66Cr10Nb5B19 Metallic Glass Powder Mixtures

open access: yesMetals, 2021
At present, metallic glasses are evaluated as alternative reinforcements for aluminum matrix composites. These composites are produced by powder metallurgy via consolidation of metallic glass-aluminum powder mixtures.

Preparation of highly fluorinated polyurethanes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
New polyurethanes, formed from a reaction of a prepolymer diol and a perfluorinated diisocyanate, are nonflammable and possess high corrosion resistance and good low temperature flexibility.

One photon and two photon process in photo-decomposition of germanium oxygen deficient centres

open access: yes, 1998
UV photon-induced transformation of germanium oxygen deficient centres (GODC) in germanium-doped silica glass have been studied using photocurrent measurements, absorption and fluorescence bleaching.

Kinetics of dissolution of glass fibre in hot alkaline solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Kinetics of the dissolution of E-glass fibres in alkaline solutions was investigated. To allow an accurate determination of conversion, glass fibres were immersed individually in the corrosive medium and the diameter change was measured with the use of a

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
