Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Nucleon and Delta resonances in K Sigma(1385) photoproduction from nucleons [PDF]
The reaction mechanisms for $K\Sigma(1385)$ photoproduction from the reaction $\gamma p \to K^+\Sigma^{0}(1385)$ in the resonance energy region are investigated in a hadronic model.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Compound nuclear reaction mechanisms of light composite particles [PDF]
We assess the ability of a light-composite breakup model coupled to pre-compound and compound statistical emission models to describe selected compound nuclear cross sections.

Modeling Mechanochemical Reaction Mechanisms
The mechanochemical reaction between copper and dimethyl disulfide is studied under well-controlled conditions in ultrahigh vacuum (UHV). Reaction is initiated by fast S-S bond scission to form adsorbed methyl thiolate species, and the reaction kinetics are reproduced by two subsequent elementary mechanochemical reaction steps, namely a mechanochemical

A Possibility to Observe Short-Range NN Properties in the Deuteron Breakup $pd\to ppn$ [PDF]
Quasi-binary reaction of the deuteron breakup $p+d\to (pp)+n$ with the final proton-proton pair $(pp)$ in the $^1S_0$ state is analyzed at initial energies $0.5 - 2$ GeV in the kinematics of backward elastic pd-scattering $pd\to dp$.

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.
