Reaction mechanisms: polar reactions

Annual Reports Section "B" (Organic Chemistry), 2012
Highlights of mechanistic work pertaining to polar reactions published in 2012 are provided in this report. Such reactions cover a wide range of biologically, chemically and industrially-relevant processes, and although they have been broadly classified here, a number could span one or more general categories.

Reaction mechanisms

2022
This chapter reviews the study of reaction rates that leads to an understanding of the mechanisms of reactions and the analysis into a sequence of elementary steps. It demonstrates how to construct rate laws from a proposed mechanism. It also outlines the elementary steps for simple rate laws that can be combined into an overall rate law: invoking the ...

Reaction Mechanisms

2016
AFTER I HAD BEEN in graduate school for several months, I decided to work in a group that studied photochemical reactions, those that are initiated by ultraviolet or visible light. My research advisor was interested in discovering new reactions and deducing experimentally how they occurred—the reaction mechanism. I remember my first group meeting where

Catalytic reactions—I Mechanisms

Talanta, 1970
The mechanisms of some reactions used in catalytic analysis are discussed. The knowledge of the mechanism of a catalytic reaction can help in the development of new catalytic reactions and the choice of optimal conditions, and to show the possibilities for further increases in sensitivity.

Mechanism of Delayed Reactions

Science, 1967
Arsanilic acid conjugates of polymers of L-typrosine, glutamic acid, and alanine are immunogenic and can elicit hapten-specific, delayed-hypersensitivity reactions in sensitized guinea pigs. Conjugates of the D-amino acid polymers are neither immunogenic nor capable of eliciting delayed reactions.
