Rate constants for reactions in viscous media: correlation between the viscosity of the solvent and the rate constant of the diffusion-controlled reactions

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 1988
AbstractThe kinetics of the quenching of excited pyrene by CH2I2 and R‐NO2 (R: ‐Me, ‐Ph, hexyl, and dodecyl) in Me‐(CH2)n‐Me (n = 5, 6, 8, 10, 14) and in 2‐methylpentane‐2,4‐diol are reported.

Targeting RAGE with Nanobodies for Molecular Imaging of Cancers and Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
RAGE‐specific nanobodies were isolated via phage display and characterized by ELISA, cell ELISA, and SPR. In vivo imaging in renal carcinoma and Alzheimer's disease mouse models demonstrated that NbF8, the highest‐affinity clone, selectively targeted RAGE‐overexpressing tumors and brain tissues, highlighting its potential as a molecular imaging agent ...

Determination of the Rate Constant of the Reaction of CCl2 with HCl

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Kinetics, 2014
ABSTRACTThe rate constant of the reaction between CCl2 radicals and HCl was experimentally determined. The CCl2 radicals were obtained by infrared multiphoton dissociation of CDCl3. The time dependence of the CCl2 radicals' concentration in the presence of HCl was determined by laser‐induced fluorescence.

Hydrogel‐Based Capacitive Sensor Model for Ammonium Monitoring in Aquaculture

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Traditional techniques for monitoring aquaculture water quality, particularly ammonium levels, harm fish. This work presents a novel capacitive sensor with an ionic hydrogel transducer to monitor ammonium concentration in real time based on the ammonium‐induced hydrogel dissociation and osmotic pressure. Monitoring aquaculture water quality, especially

Frozen autocatalytic fronts in a radial flow

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Autocatalytic reaction-diffusion fronts are localized reaction zones propagating at a constant speed with a constant width. We show both theoretically and experimentally that, if the reactant Y of the autocatalytic reaction is injected radially at a ...
