The reaction of forsterite with hydrogen-its apparent and real temperature dependences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We have studied experimentally the reaction rate between solid forsterite and hydrogen gas, one of the most fundamental reactions in the solar nebula. It was found that the rate-controlling gas species was atomic hydrogen rather than molecular hydrogen ...

Kinetics of reaction of 5,5′-dithiobis(2-nitrobenzenzoate) with CysF9[93]β sulphydryl group of sheep haemoglobins at neutral and physiological pH ranges

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2016
The kinetics of the reaction of 5,5′-dithiobis(2-nitrobenzoate) (DTNB) with CysF9[93]β sulphydryl group of the sheep haemoglobins were studied at neutral and physiological pH (6.8 ⩽ pH ⩽ 7.6) ranges under pseudo first order conditions.

Pioglitazone plus (−)‐epigallocatechin gallate: a novel approach to enhance osteogenic performance in aged bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Aged human bmMSCs are seeded in the scaffold. Osteoblastic induction can slightly increase cell's bone‐forming activity to produce bone‐like tissues, shown as the sporadic xylenol orange‐stained spots (the lower left image). Notably, pioglitazone plus EGCG co‐treatment dramatically increases cell's bone‐forming activity and bone‐like tissue production (

Effect of different choices of the Boltzmannized flux operator on thermal exchange and recombination reactions

open access: yes, 2003
The rate constants for recombination and exchange reactions are calculated using the flux correlation approach with a general form of the Boltzmannized flux operator, which can simultaneously describe the Kubo and traditional half-split forms.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Impact of Stress‐Induced Hyperglycemia on In‐Hospital Medical Complications in Patients With Acute Stroke: From a Large‐Scale Nationwide Longitudinal Registry

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims This study aimed to explore the relationship between stress‐induced hyperglycemia (SIH) and in‐hospital medical complications in patients with acute stroke. Methods We enrolled 865,765 patients with acute stroke from the Chinese Stroke Center Alliance cohort.

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.
