Kinetics of degradation of ascorbic acid by cyclic voltammetry method [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Industry and Chemical Engineering Quarterly, 2015
Cyclic voltammetry was used to examine the kinetics of degradation of ascorbic acid (AA) at different temperatures. It has been shown that the reduction of the concentration of AA in all temperatures follow the kinetics of the first order ...

Changes in Body Composition in Children and Young People Undergoing Treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ongoing evidence indicates increased risk of sarcopenic obesity among children and young people (CYP) with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), often beginning early in treatment, persisting into survivorship. This review evaluates current literature on body composition in CYP with ALL during and after treatment.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Rate constant formulae for fast reactions

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 1994
This paper presents formulae that we have derived recently for the rate constants of some chemical reactions important in interstellar chemistry. First of all, the application of a simple classical capture theory to the rate constants for the fast reactions of ground‐state carbon atoms with organic molecules is described.

Hematopoietic (stem) cells—The elixir of life?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The aging of HSCs (hematopoietic stem cells) and the blood system leads to the decline of other organs. Rejuvenating aged HSCs improves the function of the blood system, slowing the aging of the heart, kidney, brain, and liver, and the occurrence of age‐related diseases.

The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

Kinetics and Mechanism of Mn(II) Catalyzed Periodate Oxidation of p-anisidine: Effect of pH

open access: yesBulletin of Chemical Reaction Engineering & Catalysis, 2014
The stoichiometry for the initial part of the reaction, Mn(II) catalysed periodate oxidation of p-anisidine (PMA), has been found to be 1 mol of PMA consuming 2 mol of periodate ion.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

The Oxidation of 2-(2-Methoxyethoxy)ethanol and 2-(2-Ethoxyethoxy)ethanol by Ditelluratocuprate(III): A Kinetic and Mechanistic Study

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2013
The oxidation of 2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethanol (MEE) and 2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethanol (EEE) by ditelluratocuprate(III) (DTC) had been studied spectrophotometrically in alkaline medium.

Apparent Reaction Kinetics of Phenol Degradation by High-gravity Intensified Heterogeneous Catalytic Ozonation

open access: yesTaiyuan Ligong Daxue xuebao, 2022
With spherical Fe-Mn-CuOx/γ-Al2O3 catalyst as the packing of RPB (Rotating Packed Bed), the apparent reaction kinetics of phenol degradation by high gravity intensified heterogeneous catalytic ozonation was investigated under different operating ...
