Kinetics and Mechanism of Mn(II) Catalyzed Periodate Oxidation of p-anisidine: Effect of pH
The stoichiometry for the initial part of the reaction, Mn(II) catalysed periodate oxidation of p-anisidine (PMA), has been found to be 1 mol of PMA consuming 2 mol of periodate ion.

The rate constants for recombination and exchange reactions are calculated using the flux correlation approach with a general form of the Boltzmannized flux operator, which can simultaneously describe the Kubo and traditional half-split forms.

Time-resolved gas-phase kinetic and quantum chemical studies of the reaction of silylene with oxygen [PDF]
Time-resolved kinetic studies of the reaction of silylene, SiH2, generated by laser flash photolysis of phenylsilane, have been carried out to obtain rate constants for its bimolecular reaction with O-2. The reaction was studied in the gas phase over the

Peripheral blood proteome biomarkers distinguish immunosuppressive features of cancer progression
Immune status significantly influences cancer progression. This study used plasma proteomics to analyze benign 67NR and malignant 4T1 breast tumor models at early and late tumor stages. Immune‐related proteins–osteopontin (Spp1), lactotransferrin (Ltf), calreticulin (Calr) and peroxiredoxin 2 (Prdx2)–were associated with systemic myeloid‐derived ...

The intrinsic rate constants in diffusion-influenced reactions
Intrinsic rate constants play a dominant role in the theory of diffusion-influenced reactions, but usually as abstract quantities that are implicitly assumed to be known. However, recently it has become clear that modeling complex processes requires explicit knowledge of these intrinsic rates.

This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Rate constant of the reaction between CH3O2 and OH radicals [PDF]
Abstract The rate constant of the reaction (R1) OH + CH 3 O 2 → products has been measured at 294 K by simultaneous coupling of Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF) and cw-Cavity Ring Down Spectroscopy (cw-CDRS) to laser photolysis. OH radicals were generated by 248 nm photolysis of either H 2 O 2 or O 3 in the presence of H

Nuclear prothymosin α inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in lung cancer by increasing Smad7 acetylation and competing with Smad2 for binding to SNAI1, TWIST1, and ZEB1 promoters. In early‐stage cancer, ProT suppresses TGF‐β‐induced EMT, while its loss in the nucleus in late‐stage cancer leads to enhanced EMT and poor prognosis.
