A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Converter Compensation of Reactive Power Consumed by the Induction Generator

open access: yesSafety & Fire Technology, 2021
Purpose: The purpose of the article is to present a reactive power compensation for small hydropower plants with an induction generator. The classic compensation with capacitors is discussed and its improvement is proposed.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Controllable reactive compensation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, 1982
Abstract Equipment currently available for the control of reactive power is reviewed. Topics discussed include the basic principles of, and the problems associated with, reactive power control and static reactive power control systems. The techniques of modelling and simulation are also considered.

Unbalanced and Reactive Load Compensation Using MMCC-Based SATCOMs With Third-Harmonic Injection

open access: yesIEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2019
Modular multilevel-cascaded converter-based STATCOMs are scalable to higher voltages without requiring a step-up transformer with multiple windings and can be realized using a low switching frequency, giving lower harmonic content and, hence, a reduced ...

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Advanced Static Var Generator in the Reactive Power Automatic Compensation System of an Underground Mine with a Thyristor Hoisting Machine

open access: yesEnergies
In industrial plants with dynamically varying load profiles, the problem of increased charges for over-contracted reactive power consumption is very common. To eliminate these charges, reactive power compensation systems are used. This article presents a

Methods of Simulated Annealing and Particle Swarm Applied to the Optimization of Reactive Power Flow in Electric Power Systems

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2018
Electric power system is characterized by relatively high demand for lagging reactive power. From the economic viewpoint, reactive power sources should be installed close to its demand.
