Development of chitosan-based adsorbents for removal of reactive Azo Dyes from Aqueous solution. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The adsorption of reactive blue 19 (RB19), reactive orange 16 (R016) and reactive black 5 (RB5) on cross-linked chitosan/oil palm ash composite beads was studied in batch and column modes of operation.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Investigation on dyeablity of nylon 6 nanofibres with reactive dye [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Dyeablity of nanofibres has been an important challenge to the entire polymer and textile chemist for last decade. The new approaches to provide dyeability of nanofibres increase the cost of the dyeing operation considerably.

Cross-linked PVC/hyperbranched polyester composite hollow fiber membranes for dye removal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
To prepare a new type of composite membrane with high flux and good dye removal performance, hyperbranched polyester (HPE) was selected as the reactive macromonomer and a cross-linked HPE skin layer was successfully formed on the PVC-UF membrane via one ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Studies in the stability of bonds between fibre-reactive dyes and cellulose [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
A breakdown of the bond between dyes containing a 2,4-fluoro-5-chloropyrimidinyl reactive group and cellulose occurs when the dyeing is treated at room temperature in a detergent containing sodium perborate or an equivalent amount of hydrogen peroxide ...

Response Surface Methodology for Optimizing Adsorption Process Parameters of Reactive Blue 21 onto Modified Kaolin [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Environmental Technology, 2017
In this research modified Kaolin by Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide is used as an adsorbent for the removal of Reactive Blue 21 from aqueous solutions. Response Surface Methodology was used to study the effect of independent variables, such as Reactive ...

Adsorption of reactive dye on seawater-neutralised bauxite refinery residue [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This investigation has demonstrated the need for thermal treatment of seawater neutralised red mud (SWRM) in order to obtain reasonable adsorption of Reactive Blue dye 19 (RB 19).

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
