Reactive Extraction for Downstream Separation of 1,3‐Propanediol
Biotechnology Progress, 2000AbstractThe downstream separation of 1,3‐propanediol from dilute aqueous solution was studied. A process combining reversible reaction of 1,3‐propanediol with acetaldehyde to 2‐methyl‐1,3‐dioxane and a simultaneous extraction of the product by organic solvent appears to be technically feasible and attractive.

Purification of Terpenyl Amine by Reactive Extraction
Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2016This work analyzed the separation and purification of terpenyl amine by a reactive extraction in which an acid was used as complexing agent. Several different acids were investigated to form a water-soluble complex, but only carboxylic acids were found to be suitable for a reactive extraction of terpenyl amine.

Calculation of reactive extraction in countercurrent columns
Chemical Engineering & Technology, 1987AbstractThe kinetics of extraction processes with chemical reaction was studied experimentally on the system copper/Acorga PT 5050 and quantified according to meaningful kinetic models. These were coupled with other models describing the behaviour of dispersions in columns in order to permit a computer aided simultation of reactive extraction.

Extracting Environmental Constraints in Reactive System Specifications
2015Reactive systems ideally never terminate and maintain some interaction with their environment. Temporal logic is one of the methods for formal specification description of reactive systems. For a reactive system specification, we do not always obtain a program that satisfies it because the reactive system program must satisfy the specification no ...

Reactive Extraction of Penicillin III: Kinetics
The Chemical Engineering Journal, 1984Abstract The kinetics of the reactive extraction and re-extraction of penicillin G with Amberlite LA-2, dioctylamine and/or trioctylamine as carriers in n-butyl acetate, isobutyl acetate and/or chloroform as solvents were investigated in a stirred cell extractor.

A geometric interpretation of the feasibility of reactive extraction/re-extraction of penicillin G
Journal of Biotechnology, 1992The reactive extraction (re-extraction) of penicillin G from reaction mixtures is based on complexation with a carrier and subsequent dissociation of the complex. An established mathematical model for this has been analysed to develop a feasibility domain within which the process may be designed and optimised.
