The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Design of molecularly imprinted polymers for sensors and solid phase extraction [PDF]
This thesis presents broadly the applications of molecularly imprinted polymers in sensors and solid phase extraction. Sensors for creatine and creatinine have been reported using a novel method of rational design of molecularly imprinted polymers ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Isobutyl isobutyrate (IBIBE) is a typical long-chain ester widely used as a solvent, additive, or raw material. To address problems such as acidic waste emission and tedious downstream separation in traditional synthesis routes, a reactive extraction ...

Reactive Extraction of Acetic Acid from Aqueous Sodium Acetate Waste [PDF]
The recovery of acetic acid from aqueous sodium acetate using traditional methods is costly and energy-intensive. The current study focuses on exploring a synergetic reactive extraction methodology to extract acetic acid from aqueous sodium acetate waste.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Minimum Solvent Flow Rate for Counter-Current Liquid-Liquid Extraction Columns
A simple scheme to determine the minimum solvent flow rate for counter-current extraction columns is obtained and its validity is verified using two case studies. An infinite number of equilibrium stages are simplified to a single equilibrium stage.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
