A simplified study for reactive power management in autonomous microgrids

open access: yes, 2019
Reactive power sharing is one of the main issues in the control and operation of an autonomous Microgrids (MGs), especially for MGs composed by power generation interfaced with the MG distribution by means of Power Electronic Converters (PEC).

Modeling and simulation of distributed energy source for real and reactive power sharing

open access: yes, 2012
This paper presents two different control schemes for load sharing in the presence of utility grid. A single renewable source (modeled in the form of battery) is available to meet the load real and reactive power requirement.

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Tough Injectable Hydrogels Enabled by Integrating Rigid Homogeneous Framework With Flexible Chains

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tough injectable hydrogels are constructed by integrating a rigid, homogeneous hyaluronic acid framework with flexible long‐chain connectors. This framework–flexible structure simultaneously enhances network uniformity and promotes effective energy dissipation by enlarging plastic deformation zones under compression.

Reactive Power Sharing and Voltage Harmonic Distortion Compensation of Droop Controlled Single Phase Islanded Microgrids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
When paralleling multiple inverters that are capable of operating as an island, the inverters typically employ the droop control scheme. Traditional droop control enables the decentralized regulation of the local voltage and frequency of the microgrid by

Power sharing enhancement through a decentralized droop-based control strategy in an islanded microgrid

open access: yese-Prime: Advances in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Energy
A decentralized intelligent droop-based control strategy is proposed in this paper for the enhancement of equal active and reactive power sharing in an islanded inverter-based microgrid.

Thermally Engineered Sodium‐Embedded Alumina with Programmable Synaptic Plasticity for Neuromorphic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fully transparent, all‐metal‐oxide neuromorphic transistor using a sodium‐embedded alumina (SEA) electrolyte is demonstrated. By precisely tuning the thermal annealing process, the chemical composition of the SEA layer is controlled, allowing for the deterministic realization of both short‐term and long‐term synaptic plasticity within the same device
