Immobilized plant cell reactors

Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 1983
Abstract The use of plant cells for the production of biochemicals represents a new area of biotechnological exploration. The techniques envisioned for industrial processes are related to those developed for microorganisms and a strong emphasis should be placed on immobilized cell systems.

Plant cell reactors—A perspective

Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 1989
Abstract The potential of plant cell culture for the production of commercially valuable secondary metabolites is reviewed. The techniques employed for large-scale plant cell suspension culture are largely those developed for microbial culture, so the basic characteristics of the two types of culture are compared.

Reactor Plant Systems

2011
The principal objective of the sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR) power plant is to generate electricity. This is accomplished by transferring energy from nuclear fission to a steam system to run a turbine-generator. In this chapter we describe the SFR systems outside the core that are needed to meet this objective.

An Underwater Thermoelectric Reactor Plant

Journal of Aircraft, 1966
A conceptual design is presented for an underwater thermoelectric nuclear power plant capable of producing continuous electric power at a 100-kwe level. The inherent advantage of a self-pressurized, natural circulation, pressurized water reactor (PWR) system is combined with a direct-conversion thermoelectric generator to provide a completely static ...

Nuclear Reactor Plant Kinetics and Control

Proceedings of the IRE, 1962
Radio and control engineers have contributed significantly to the understanding of nuclear reactor stability and transient response over the last 15 years. The successful application of frequency response and analog simulation techniques to reactor kinetics problems, together with experimental confirmation, has allowed increased dependence on inherent ...

Experience in Decontamination of Naval Reactor Plants

Nuclear Technology, 2019
The technologies and chemical solutions for decontamination of high-power reactors are limited for use in small-scale power generation due to fundamental differences in operating conditions, fuel c...
