Investigating Nucleation Inhibition in the Dehydrogenation of Perhydro Benzyltoluene

open access: yesChemical Engineering &Technology, Volume 49, Issue 9, September 2026.
Nucleation can profoundly influence mass transport and the performance of reactive systems. Building on observations from other LOHC systems, this work demonstrates that gas bubble nucleation enhances hydrogen release during perhydro benzyltoluene dehydrogenation.

Radiation Induced Microstructural Evolution in Reactor Pressure Vessel Steels

open access: yes, 1994
The evolution of the fine scale microstructural features leading to irradiation embrittlement of reactor pressure vessel steels is described. Copper rich phases undergo accelerated precipitation from supersaturated solution due to radiation enhanced ...

Nonsterile Cultivation of the Thermophilic Cyanobacterium Parathermosynechococcus lividus PCC 6715 in a Floating Light Ball Reactor (FLBR) on 53‐L Scale for Zeaxanthin Production

open access: yesChemFoodChem, Volume 2, Issue 3, September 2026.
We demonstrate cultivation of the thermophilic cyanobacterium Parathermosynechococcus lividus PCC 6715 at 40–55°C and 4 × 53 L scale using a Floating Light Ball Reactor (FLBR). The system enabled continuous illumination, non‐sterile operation with low contamination, flexible handling, and zeaxanthin production of 1.4–2.0 mg g−1, supporting future ...

Pressure vessel design manual

open access: yes, 2013
Pressure vessels are closed containers designed to hold gases or liquids at a pressure substantially different from the ambient pressure. They have a variety of applications in industry, including in oil refineries, nuclear reactors, vehicle airbrake ...

Deformation behavior in reactor pressure vessel steels as a clue to understanding irradiation hardening. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In this paper, we examine the post-yield true stress vs true strain behavior of irradiated pressure vessel steels and iron-based alloys to reveal differences in strain-hardening behavior associated with different irradiating particles (neutrons and ...

In‐situ asphaltene capture with iron oxide nanoparticles in steam‐assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) for improved recovery and partial upgrading of bitumen

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 9, Page 4787-4808, September 2026.
Key improvements obtained by incorporating nanoparticles into a lab‐scale SAGD process configuration. The bar plots show enhanced oil recovery, reduced viscosity, and increased asphaltene adsorption in nanoparticle‐assisted scenarios compared with conventional SAGD.

Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy of Nanostructural Features in Model Reactor Pressure Vessel Steels

open access: yes, 2003
Irradiation embrittlement in nuclear reactor pressure vessel steels results from the formation of a high number density of nanometer sized copper rich precipitates and sub-nanometer defect-solute clusters.

Optimization of Venetoclax Napsylate Crystallization

open access: yesCrystal Research and Technology, Volume 61, Issue 9, September 2026.
Optimized crystallization using seeding and process control enabled phase‐selective production of the form E of polymorphic venetoclax napsylate, reducing the initial crystallization time from 20 to 2.5 h while ensuring purity for potential pharmaceutical applications.

Ceria Nanostructures Obtained by Hydrothermal Synthesis: Exploring the Experimental Parameter Landscape for Precise Morphology and Size Control

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 25, 1 September 2026.
Hydrothermal and microwave‐assisted syntheses enable systematic tuning of ceria nanostructure morphology. Chloride counter‐ions direct nanorod growth, while an acetate buffer yields uniform nanocubes whose size (14–26 nm) is tuned via the reactor filling ratio, with microwave heating significantly cutting reaction times to minutes while preserving high
