Accelerating the Roll‐Out of Modular Plants: From Engineering and Approval to Operation of Energy‐Efficient Modular Plants

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
In the ENPRO REUNION project, a manufacturer‐independent modular plant concept was demonstrated by commissioning a pilot plant that integrated modules from different vendors and by expanding the module pool to include extraction and crystallization units.

Optical Multiphase Conductivity Inline Probe: Characterization and Analysis of Foam Structures

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A novel inline probe combines optical imaging and electrical conductivity within a shared measurement volume, enabling simultaneous determination of foam structure and composition. The method provides real‐time access to cell size distributions and liquid fractions under process conditions. ABSTRACT For inline process analysis of foams, a novel optical

Impact of Trace Water on the Macroscopic Activity of Commercial Ammonia Cracking Catalysts Under Process‐Relevant Conditions

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
This study evaluates how small water impurities—typical in ammonia cracking feedstock—affect catalyst performance at elevated pressures and temperatures. By decoupling permanent degradation from reversible inhibition, the findings highlight trace water as a significant factor for reliable catalyst screening and industrial ammonia cracking scale‐up ...

INFLUENCE OF CLADDING ON CONSTRAINT EFFECT OF REACTOR PRESSURE VESSEL SUBJECTED TO PRESSURIZED THERMAL SHOCK

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2018
The 3 D FE models of reactor pressure vessel( RPV) with an axial crackwere built. The aspect ratio of the crack is a/c = 1/2( a = 30 mm,c = 60 mm).

Durene conversion in a methanol‐to‐jet process: Exploring conversion at 150–350°C over different acid catalysts

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Acid catalyzed conversion of durene by isomerization, disproportionation, and transalkylation is of interest to the development of a methanol‐to‐jet process to reduce the amount of durene in the kerosene. It was of interest to determine whether durene conversion could be performed at a temperature lower than 350°C.

Evaluation of WWER-1000 vessel materials fracture toughness [PDF]

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2007
The lifetime of WWER-1000-type reactor vessels is finally conditioned by the fracture toughness (crack growth resistance) of RPV materials. Up to now in line with the regulations the fracture toughness is characterized by the critical temperature of ...

On the Modelling of Thermal Aging through Neutron Irradiation and Annealing

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2018
A new method predicting long-term thermal embrittlement of steel caused by P segregation is verified. The method is based on the results of impact strength or fracture toughness tests using specimens after relatively short-term neutron irradiation ...

Green and sustainable synthesis of magnetite from copper slag via citrate complexation for methylene blue dye removal from water

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This study proposes a novel, green, and sustainable method for synthesizing magnetic iron oxides from metallurgical copper slag (CS), leveraging its iron content as a valuable resource. Iron was extracted via acid leaching using edible citric acid (ECA), forming a citrate–iron complex (CSL), which was subsequently thermally decomposed at 300°C

Effect of Nanostructure Changes on Stress Corrosion Cracking of Proton Irradiated Nuclear Energy Structural Materials [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2011
Austenitic stainless alloys are used extensively as structural materials in the internal components of light water reactor (LWR) pressure vessels because of their relatively high strength, ductility, and fracture toughness.
