Dynamic properties of reactor steels Kh16N15M3T1 and Kh13V2 under shock-wave loading of submicrosecond scale

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Kh16N15M3T1 and Kh13V2 reactor steels were investigated. The study was carried out using a light-gas gun with the deformation velocities ranging from 4·104 to 3·106 s-1 and shock-loading pulses in 0.05-1 μs duration range.

Surface‐Functionalized MXene for Enhanced Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Poly(catechol/p‐cresol)‐functionalized MXene (f‐MXene) enhances oxidation stability while preserving conductivity, enabling efficient interfacial electron transfer in a Cu/f‐MXene/reduced TiO2 photocatalyst. Strong Cu–f‐MXene synergy promotes CO2 activation and selective CH4 production, achieving a CH4 yield of 18.1 µmol g−1 (>200 × vs.

Calendering‐Dependent Electrochemical and Cost‐Energy Tradeoffs in Layered – Olivine Blend Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Blends comprised of LiNi0.9Mn0.05Co0.05O2 (NMC) and LiMn0.7Fe0.3PO4 (LMFP) are investigated to assess the performance – cost tradeoffs. Their rate‐capability benefit is retained only under uncalendered‐to‐moderately calendered states. Although blends reduce voltage decay and improve energy retention, they do not deliver measureable improvement in ...

Evaluation of plasma‐reaction‐driving capability in dielectric barrier discharge systems: Insights from CH4 splitting

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma systems are promising routes for CH4 splitting to COx‐free hydrogen, but their optimization has historically been hindered by the lack of a universal descriptor linking electrical input with chemical output.

Membrane‐aided simultaneous reaction–separation for liquid phase products

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Conventionally, reaction and separation are conducted as separate steps in liquid‐phase manufacturing, with products formed during reaction and subsequently separated from unreacted reagents, solvents, and byproducts. Integrating these steps into a simultaneous reaction–separation process can improve efficiency and reduce costs.

How small changes to methylated piperidinium cations impact the synthesis of zeolite SSZ‐39

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Here we report a synthesis study of SSZ‐39 with four different organic structure directing agents (OSDA). The goal was to determine how subtle changes to the OSDA architecture impact crystallization kinetics, material composition, and other properties.

Neutron irradiation-induced phosphorus segregation in reactor pressure vessel steels

open access: yes, 2005
Neutron irradiation-induced phosphorus intergranular segregation in the reactor pressure vessel steels is the one of main reasons resulting in brittle fracture of the nuclear reactor vessel.
