Particle-based biofilm reactor technology

Trends in Biotechnology, 2000
Particle-based biofilm reactors provide the potential to develop compact and high-rate processes. In these reactors, a large biomass content can be maintained (up to 30 g l-1), and the large specific surface area (up to 3000 m2 m-3) ensures that the conversions are not strongly limited by the biofilm liquid mass-transfer rate.

Synthol reactor technology development

Catalysis Today, 2002
Abstract Since Sasol introduced the Kellogg designed circulating fluidized bed (CFB) reactors at Sasol 1 in the 1950s, the commercial high-temperature Fischer–Tropsch (HTFT) process has had a dynamic ongoing development resulting, recently, in the introduction of Sasol advanced synthol (SAS) reactor operation only at Secunda, 1999.

Technology of Research Reactors

Annual Review of Nuclear Science, 1962
Engineering developments in the field of high-power (1014 and 1015 neutrons/cm2 sec) research reactors are reviewed with emphasis on fuel element technology and the principle of the flux trap. Calculational methods used in designing reactors are discussed. Several examples of two types of advanced research reactor are described: plate-fuel-element tank

The multizone circulating reactor technology

Chemical Engineering Science, 2001
Abstract Since the early stage of the polyolefins development, properties have been expanded by improving catalyst chemistry, morphology and by conducting polymerization in two successive steps, generating in each step a different polymer in terms of molecular weight, crystallinity, composition to match the designed properties balance.
