Real-Time Monitoring of Growing Nanoparticles
Science, 2003One challenge in the production of nanometer-sized objects with given properties is to control their growth at a macroscopic scale in situ and in real time. A dedicated ultrahigh-vacuum grazing-incidence small-angle x-ray scattering setup has been developed, yielding high sensitivity and dynamics.

Power Lines Real Time Monitoring
Volume 9: 6th FSI, AE and FIV and N Symposium, 2006Nowadays, the electricity demand keeps increasing. To adapt to this request, an increase in the production of electricity, as well as in transmission and distribution capacities is necessary. Whereas the construction of a new site of energy production is relatively easy, it is extremely long and difficult to manage to build new overhead lines ...

Real Time Air Quality Monitoring
2018 10th International Conference on Knowledge and Smart Technology (KST), 2018In this paper, a real-time crowd sensing based air quality monitoring system is presented. The proposed system uses low cost and low power devices with gas sensors to capture the air quality index from the atmosphere. Raw sensor data collected from the gas sensors sent to the cloud using an android application.

Real-time monitoring system for microfluidics
SPIE Proceedings, 2007A new non-invasive real-time system for the monitoring and control of microfluidodynamic phenomena is proposed. The general purpose design of such system is suitable for in vitro and in vivo experimental setup and therefore for microfluidic application in the biomedical field such as lab-on-chip and for research studies in the field of ...

Raw materials get verified by using handheld Raman scanners. Reactions are monitored in situ with probes attached to optical spectrometers. Near-infrared, Raman, and reflectance devices track crystallization, drying, and particle formation as they happen. And finished tablets are examined chemically and physically as they tumble off the line.

Real-time computing in patient monitoring
International Journal of Bio-Medical Computing, 1972Abstract The Research Department of Anaesthetics at the Royal College of Surgeons has been involved in computer-oriented patient monitoring for the last three years. Monitoring, in this context, means that not only should the clinician be able to detect that a dangerous situation has arisen, but that the system should be able to predict that such a ...

Real-time monitoring of energy infrastructure
2011 24th Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering(CCECE), 2011Many legacy infrastructures are reaching the end of their service life. The necessary replacement of this infrastructure creates an opportunity to replace them with environmental and innovative systems. In this paper, a Smart Energy Micro Grid (SEMG) simulator is developed to model thermal energy alternatives for a large Canadian university.

Real-Time Clinical Monitoring of Biomolecules
Annual Review of Analytical Chemistry, 2013Continuous monitoring of clinical biomarkers offers the exciting possibility of new therapies that use biomarker levels to guide treatment in real time. This review explores recent progress toward this goal. We initially consider measurements in body fluids by a range of analytical methods.
