Real-Time Scheduling with Regenerative Energy

18th Euromicro Conference on Real-Time Systems (ECRTS'06), 2006
This paper investigates real-time scheduling in a system whose energy reservoir is replenished by an environmental power source. The execution of tasks is deemed primarily energy-driven, i.e., a task may only respect its deadline if its energy demand can be satisfied early enough.

Soft real-time scheduling on multiprocessors

2006
The design of real-time systems is being impacted by two trends. First, tightly-coupled multiprocessor platforms are becoming quite common. This is evidenced by the availability of affordable symmetric shared-memory multiprocessors and the emergence of multicore architectures. Second, there is an increase in the number of real-time systems that require

Scheduling of hard real-time systems

1986
In this paper we study hard real-time systems: systems where strict time deadlines have to be met. We analyze a special case as well as a general model for hard real-time systems and study pre-emptive, static, scheduling policies for a single processor. The analysis is exact and can handle any arbitrary choice of strict deadlines thereby allowing us to
