Real Exchange Rate Misalignment
We combine some newly developed panel co-integration techniques and common factor analysis to analyze the behavior of the real exchange rate (RER) in a sample of 64 developing countries. We study the dynamic of the RER with its economic fundamentals: productivity, the terms of trade, openness, and government spending.

GROWTH EFFECTS OF CURRENCY MISALIGNMENT AND CAPITAL FLIGHT IN TURKEY
This study examines the growth effects of real exchange rate (RER) misalignment and capital flight in Turkey during the period 1981-2019. The World Bank’s residual method suggests that capital flight is a widespread problem in Turkey and the Single ...

Real exchange rate misalignment and exchange rate regime dynamics: Evidence from Sierra Leone
This study examines whether Sierra Leone’s succession of exchange-rate regimes since 1970 has been associated with changes in the alignment between the real exchange rate (RER) and its macroeconomic fundamentals. Using an Edwards–Elbadawi framework, the

Natural Equilibrium Real Exchange Rate in Korea
This paper defines an equilibrium time path of the real effective exchange rate of the Korean won. Once we know the equilibrium real exchange rate of the Korean won, we can calculate the degree of its misalignment. An estimate of the NATREX (NATural Real

In Search for a Measure of Currency Misalignment: the Case of the 1997 Asian Currency Crisis
The paper searches for an appropriate measure of currency misalignment in light of the 1997 Asian currency crisis. A couple of measures of currency misalignment, one based on purchasing power parity and the other based on equilibrium real exchange rate ...

A lead‐free tin‐based hybrid perovskite is designed in which stereochemically active lone‐pair electrons on tin distort the crystal lattice and break its symmetry. Blended into a flexible polymer, the material converts pressure into electricity at milliwatt‐scale power density and continues working far below freezing, powering a commercial wristwatch ...

All‐epitaxial and scalable ferromagnetic/non‐magnetic Fe5−xGeTe2/WSe2 van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures exhibiting room‐temperature magnetism and perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) are realized. The system displays proximity‐tuned magnetic anisotropy, thickness‐dependent unconventional Hall effects, and temperature‐dependent sign reversal of ...

A Nb‐proximitized Josephson junction based on a WTe2/α‐Fe2O3 heterostructure exhibits a robust superconducting diode effect with programmable polarity. The diode direction can be trained by magnetic fields and switched by temperature cycling, revealing tunable finite‐momentum pairing states and competing superconducting states in symmetry‐broken ...
