Real Hypersurfaces with Many Simple Singularities

open access: yesRevista Matemática Complutense, 2005
This paper extends the results of \textit{E. Shustin} and \textit{E. Westenberger} [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 70, No. 3, 609--624 (2004; Zbl 1075.14034)] on the existence of algebraic hypersurfaces with prescribed simple singularities to the real case.

The Hypersurface Case [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The objective of this paper is to show how the recently proposed method by Giusti, Heintz, Morais, Morgenstern, Pardo can be applied to a case of real polynomial equation solving.

A characterization of a certain real hypersurface of type $({\rm A}_2)$ in a complex projective space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
summary:In the class of real hypersurfaces $M^{2n-1}$ isometrically immersed into a nonflat complex space form $\widetilde {M}_n(c)$ of constant holomorphic sectional curvature $c$ $(\ne 0)$ which is either a complex projective space $\mathbb {C}P^n(c ...

On 1-Harmonic Functions

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2007
Characterizations of entire subsolutions for the 1-harmonic equation of a constant 1-tension field are given with applications in geometry via transformation group theory.

A characterization of totally $\eta$-umbilical real hypersurfaces and ruled real hypersurfaces of a complex space form [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
summary:We give a characterization of totally $\eta $-umbilical real hypersurfaces and ruled real hypersurfaces of a complex space form in terms of totally umbilical condition for the holomorphic distribution on real hypersurfaces.

On the Work of Cartan and Münzner on Isoparametric Hypersurfaces

open access: yesAxioms
A hypersurface Mn in a real space form Rn+1, Sn+1, or Hn+1 is isoparametric if it has constant principal curvatures. This paper is a survey of the fundamental work of Cartan and Münzner on the theory of isoparametric hypersurfaces in real space forms, in

Existence and multiplicity of solutions to elliptic problems with discontinuities and free boundary conditions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2010
We study the nonlinear elliptic problem with discontinuous nonlinearity $$displaylines{ -Delta u = f(u)H(u-mu ) quadhbox{in } Omega, cr u =h quad hbox{on }partial Omega, }$$ where $H$ is the Heaviside unit function, $f,h$ are given functions and ...

On real forms of Fermat hypersurfaces

open access: yes, 2023
In this paper, we compute the number of real forms of Fermat hypersurfaces for degree $d \ge 2$ except the degree 4 surface case, and give explicit descriptions of them.
