KLK7 overexpression promotes an aggressive phenotype and facilitates peritoneal dissemination in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...

Spatial interpolation of dry deposition using EOF models

open access: yesRevista de Matemática: Teoría y Aplicaciones, 2009
Random processes are monitored over space and time by a network of stations distributed across a spatial region. Auxiliary information is often gathered not only at the stations but at other points across the region.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Real interpolation and compact linear operators

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 1990
The main result of the paper is a new proof of a result of \textit{K. Hayakawa} [J. Math. Soc. Japan 21, 189-199 (1969; Zbl 0181.137)]: T: \(A_ 0\to B_ 0\) is compact and T: \(A_ 1\to B_ 1\) is compact, then given any \(\theta\) and q with ...

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Shallow Subsurface Wavefield Data Interpolation Method Based on Transfer Learning

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The deployment density of surface sensors can significantly impact the accuracy of subsurface shallow seismic field energy inversion. With finite budget constraints, it is often not feasible to deploy a large number of sensors, resulting in limited ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

A geometrical approach for surface reconstruction by means of radial basis functions with compact support

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2013
Recently in the community of computer vision related with the surface reconstruction processes of free-form objects there has been a growing trend in the use of interpolation techniques.

Taut Strings and Real Interpolation

open access: yes, 2016
The taut string problem concerns finding the function with the shortest graph length, i.e. the taut string, in a certain set  of continuous piecewise linear functions.
