Deep Learning-Based Interpolation for Ground Penetrating Radar Data Reconstruction

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), with its high resolution and real-time monitoring capabilities, is widely used in fields such as underground structure detection, archaeological excavation, environmental monitoring, and engineering surveying. However, the

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Quantification Method for In-Vitro Tissue Culture Plants Morphology using Object Tracking and Digital Image Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Manual measurement of morphology variables on in-vitro stored plants usually cause either physical damage or microorganism infection such that further monitoring of their in-vitro performance is precluded. This study adapted computer vision technology by

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

2D and 3D Optical Flow Based Interpolation of the 4DCT ImageSequences in the External Beam Radiotherapy

open access: yesFrontiers in Biomedical Technologies, 2015
Purpose: Although in the external beam radiotherapy tumor motionis a crucial and challenging issue due to respiration  motion, temporal changes in anatomy during imaging cause considerable problems.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

An efficient method for modeling and evaluating the bench terrain of open-pit mines

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
In order to quantitatively analyze the roughness of the bench floor during open-pit mine blasting, this study proposes a real-time measuring method for the three-dimensional terrain of the bench floor during the excavation process.

An Investigation of the High Efficiency Estimation Approach of the Large-Scale Scattered Point Cloud Normal Vector

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
The normal vector estimation of the large-scale scattered point cloud (LSSPC) plays an important role in point-based shape editing. However, the normal vector estimation for LSSPC cannot meet the great challenge of the sharp increase of the point cloud ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
