Two new approaches to spatial interpolation with inherent sidelobe suppression for imaging riometers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Absorption images as obtained by imaging riometers such as IRIS are usually created by interpolating between absorption values for individual beams. For IRIS, the locations of the beam centres serve as grid points for subsequent linear interpolation ...

Model Reduction for Multiscale Lithium-Ion Battery Simulation

open access: yes, 2016
In this contribution we are concerned with efficient model reduction for multiscale problems arising in lithium-ion battery modeling with spatially resolved porous electrodes.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Shallow Subsurface Wavefield Data Interpolation Method Based on Transfer Learning

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The deployment density of surface sensors can significantly impact the accuracy of subsurface shallow seismic field energy inversion. With finite budget constraints, it is often not feasible to deploy a large number of sensors, resulting in limited ...

Application of common reflection surface (CRS) to velocity variation with azimuth (VVAz) inversion of the relatively narrow azimuth 3D seismic land data

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2021
The fracture direction and its intensity are critical properties related to hydrocarbon characterization and identification. Both these properties have an essential role in identifying the direction of hydrocarbon migration, determining the sweet spot ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Solving ordinary differential equations (ODES) and delay differential equations (DDES) using Nakashima’s 2 stages 4Th order Pseudo-Runge-Kutta method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The aim of this research is to investigate numerically the problem on solving Delay Differential Equations (DDEs) using Nakashima’s 2 Stages 4th Order Pseudo-Runge-Kutta Method.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

On interpolation of the measure of noncompactness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We revised the known results on interpolation of the measure of noncompactness and we announce a new approach to establishing the interpolation formula for the real ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...
