Optimization of Active Power Losses for High-Voltage Distribution Grids Using Mixed-Integer Quadratic Programming

open access: yesEnergies
The energy transition is leading to increased loading of high-voltage distribution grids (HVDGs), which in turn results in higher active power losses. In addition, the meshed network structure typical for German 110 kV grids enables transit power flows ...

Methodology for evaluating water losses / Vandens nuostolių įvertinimo metodika

open access: yesMokslas: Lietuvos Ateitis, 2013
A reduction in water losses is significant for improving the efficiency of water supply systems and sustainable water use. The major part of water supply companies does not have enough experience in reducing water losses; therefore, a lack of information

Real Power Loss Reduction by Cultivation of Soil Optimization Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Sciences, 2020
In this paper, the optimal reactive power problem has been solved by the cultivation of soil optimization (CSO) algorithm. The reduction of real power loss is a key objective of this work. The projected CSO algorithm has been modeled based on the quality of soil which has been used in the cultivation of various crops season to season.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

The analysis of machine operation and equipment loss in ironworks and steelworks

open access: yesProduction Engineering Archives, 2017
The article presents a case study of the identification and analysis of operating and equipment losses in a steel plant. Losses may be visible in costs resulting from premature wear of machine and equipment components, removal of emergency failures ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

REFINED ALGORITHMS OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY LOSSES CALCULATION IN 0,38 KV NETWORKS IN REAL TIME

open access: yesProblems of the Regional Energetics, 2010
An approach for closer definition of electrical energy losses size in air lines due to the accounting of environment temperature influence and flowing current size on the wire resistance is offered.

Real coded genetic algorithm based transmission system loss estimation in dynamic economic dispatch problem

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2018
Estimation of transmission loss is vital in scheduling, optimization and planning of power systems. The conventional transmission loss evaluation methods used in power system scheduling problems are not accurate as the transmission network parameters in ...
