Real-time interactive treatment planning
Physics in Medicine and Biology, 2014The goal of this work is to develop an interactive treatment planning platform that permits real-time manipulation of dose distributions including DVHs and other dose metrics. The hypothesis underlying the approach proposed here is that the process of evaluating potential dose distribution options and deciding on the best clinical trade-offs may be ...

War in History, 2006
In recent years Terence Zuber has maintained that the document commonly known as the ‘Schlieffen Plan’ was, in fact, no real war plan. This article takes issue with Zuber’s far-ranging conclusions. It examines his use of sources, places German war planning in its wider political context, and considers evidence overlooked by Zuber.

Computing driving directions in road networks is a fundamental problem. Although it can be solved in essentially linear time by Dijkstra's algorithm [6], this is not fast enough to enable interactive queries on large-scale inputs. Instead, modern algorithms typically work in two stages: first an offline preprocessing routine computes some auxiliary ...

Planning Theory, 2013
This article argues that contemporary planning theory is underpinned by an anti-realist ontology that has eroded its capacity to engage meaningfully with the materiality of space. The article draws on the experience of the author as a planner in a large city in the global South to illustrate the limits of planning theory.
