An embedding theorem for real projective spaces

open access: yesTopology, 1968
LET X be a topological space and iJ the diagonal in X x X. A map f: X x X A -+ S”-’ is called equivariant iff(x, y) = -f(y, x ) f or all (x, y) E X x X A. Any topological embedding F: X + R” gives rise to an equivariant map, namely define F(x) F(Y) Rx9 y, = 11 F(x) F(y) 11.

Left hippocampus sparing model for glioblastoma radiotherapy by utilizing knowledge‐based planning and multi‐criteria optimization

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Results of a prospective, randomized controlled trial at our institute demonstrate an association between the dose to the left hippocampus and neurocognitive decline post‐radiotherapy for patients with glioblastoma. To minimize the dose to the left hippocampus, a left hippocampus sparing model was created using RapidPlan (RP) and multi‐

Topology Optimization of Lattice Support Structure for Cantilever Beams Fabricated Via Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView., 2023
A numerical scheme is presented to design a lattice support for metallic components additively built via laser powder bed fusion. Results show that thermal‐induced distortion can be respectively reduced by 69%, 58%, and 50% in comparison to a uniform lattice, a fully solid support, and a truss‐based lattice support.

The block structure spaces of real projective spaces and orthogonal calculus of functors [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, Volume 359, Number 1, January 2007, pages 349-383, 2004
Given a compact manifold X, the set of simple manifold structures on X x \Delta^k relative to the boundary can be viewed as the k-th homotopy group of a space \S^s (X). This space is called the block structure space of X. We study the block structure spaces of real projective spaces.

Circle actions on a quantum Seifert manifold

open access: yes, 2011
The quotients of a (non-orientable) quantum Seifert manifold by circle actions are described. In this way quantum weighted real projective spaces that include the quantum disc and the quantum real projective space as special cases are obtained.

The effect of kV imaging dose on PTV and OAR planning constraints in lung SBRT using stereoscopic/monoscopic real‐time tumor‐monitoring system

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Quantify the impact of additional imaging doses on clinical dose constraints during lung stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) treatment utilizing stereoscopic/monoscopic real‐time tumor monitoring. Materials and Methods Thirty lung SBRT patients treated with the volumetric arc therapy technique were randomly selected from the ...

Real hypersurfaces of complex projective spaces

open access: yesMathematische Annalen, 1983
Let P"(~) denote the complex projective space with Fubini-Study metric of constant holomorphic sectional curvature 4 and suppose m >2. It is well-known that there does not exist a totally umbilical real hypersurface M of P"(C) (see Tashiro and Tachibana [7]).

Multi‐institutional study on image quality for a novel CBCT solution on O‐ring linac

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction This work presents a multi‐institutional study on image quality provided by a novel cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). The main goal is to investigate the consistency of imaging performance across multiple institutions.

Investigation of the Uniformity of Gel Shrinkage by Imaging Tracer Particles Using X‐Ray Microtomography

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView., 2023
A novel method for tracking structural changes in gels using widely accessible microcomputed tomography is presented and validated for various hydro‐, alco‐, and aerogels. The core idea of the method is to track positions of micrometer‐sized tracer particles entrapped in the gel and relate them to the density of the gel network.
