Real projective spaces are nonfibrators

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 1999

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

A holographic connection between strings and causal diamonds

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this paper we explore ideas of holography and strings living in the d + 1 dimensional Anti-de Sitter space AdS d+1 in a unified framework borrowed from twistor theory. In our treatise of correspondences between geometric structures of the bulk AdS d+1,

A real-time photogrammetric algorithm for sensor and synthetic image fusion with application to aviation combined vision [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2014
The paper addresses a promising visualization concept related to combination of sensor and synthetic images in order to enhance situation awareness of a pilot during an aircraft landing.

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Improved Uncalibrated Visual Servo Strategy for Hyper-Redundant Manipulators in On-Orbit Automatic Assembly

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Aiming at on-orbit automatic assembly, an improved uncalibrated visual servo strategy for hyper-redundant manipulators based on projective homography is proposed.

The block structure spaces of real projective spaces and orthogonal calculus of functors

open access: yes, 2006
Given a compact manifold X, the set of simple manifold structures on X x \Delta^k relative to the boundary can be viewed as the k-th homotopy group of a space \S^s (X). This space is called the block structure space of X.

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

A note on irreducible Heegaard diagrams

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2006
We construct a Heegaard diagram of genus three for the real projective 3-space, which has no waves and pairs of complementary handles. The first example was given by Im and Kim but our diagram has smaller complexity.

Natural Perspective: Mapping Visual Space with Art and Science

open access: yesVision, 2018
Following its discovery in fifteenth-century Italy, linear perspective has often been hailed as the most accurate method of projecting three-dimensional visual space onto a two-dimensional picture plane.
