(Quasi)-uniformities on the set of bounded maps

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1994
From real analysis it is known that if a sequence {fn,   n∈ℕ} of real-valued functions defined and bounded on X⊂ℝ converges uniformly to f, then f is also bounded and the sequence {fn,   n∈ℕ}. In the present paper we generalize results as the above using

RVFL-LQP: RVFL-Based Link Quality Prediction of Wireless Sensor Networks in Smart Grid

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In the application of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) to smart grid, real-time and accurate wireless link quality prediction (LQP) is important to determine which link is reliable enough to undertake the communication task.

Construction of eigenvarieties in small cohomological dimensions for semi-simple, simply connected groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We study low order terms of Emerton's spectral sequence for simply connected, simple groups. As a result, for real rank 1 groups, we show that Emerton's method for constructing eigenvarieties is successful in cohomological dimension 1.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Differential privacy protection method based on published trajectory cross-correlation constraint.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Aiming to solve the problem of low data utilization and privacy protection, a personalized differential privacy protection method based on cross-correlation constraints is proposed.

Sequential treatment of metastatic renal cell carcinoma patients after first-line vascular endothelial growth factor targeted therapy in a real-world setting: epidemiologic, noninterventional, retrospective–prospective cohort multicentre study

open access: yesJournal of Cancer Research and Clinical Oncology, 2023
Purpose The purpose of our study was to determine whether data on the clinical effectiveness of second-line therapy collected in a real-world setting provide additional valuable information on the optimal sequence of metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC)

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
