Real-time simulation in non real-time environment

2016 21st International Conference on Methods and Models in Automation and Robotics (MMAR), 2016
Simulation in real-time is a very useful tool because of didactical and practical benefits. Very important benefit of real-time simulation is a fact that operator's decision can be taken into account in the same time scale as the real system would work.

Real-time interfaces for composing real-time systems

Proceedings of the 6th ACM & IEEE International conference on Embedded software - EMSOFT '06, 2006
Recently, a number of frameworks were proposed to extend interface theory to the domains of single-processor and distributed real-time systems. This paper unifies some of these approaches and proves properties like refinement and independent implementability. We also explicitly state the requirements to a framework for these properties to be fulfilled.

Real-Time Automata

J. Autom. Lang. Comb., 2001
We study here the class of timed automata with a single clock which is reset at each transition. We adapt for these automata the classical results for finite automata: the Kleene Theorem, the closure under complementation and the Pumping Lemma. We provide an algorithm for the elimination of stuttering steps, which is essential in complementation. This

Tenses in Real Time

Mathematical Logic Quarterly, 1986
In standard tense logic, tenses are defined linguistically as operator combinations in a Prior-type language. Here, however, tenses are studied as unary operations on sets of reals. Ordinary mathematical conditions (such as automorphism invariance, continuity) are then used to classify natural tenses.

Real-Time Halftoning

Journal of Graphics Tools, 2002
We present a real-time hardware accelerated method for rendering objects using halftoning. It is solely based on texture mapping and creates the impression of a printed image, although the lighting and objects can be changed and manipulated on the fly.

Optimization in real time

[1991] Proceedings Twelfth Real-Time Systems Symposium, 2002
A search algorithm called real-time search (RTS) for solving combinatorial optimization problems under real-time constraints is presented. The algorithm aims at finding the best possible solution within a given deadline. Since this objective is generally not achievable without first solving the problem, the authors use an alternative heuristic ...

The Real-Time Enterprise, the Real-Time Supply Chain

Information Systems Management, 2003
Abstract The idea of a real-time enterprise is gaining momentum very quickly. Although implementing a real-time selection is a complex and significant undertaking, the ROI is intuitively obvious and quantitatively verifiable. Managers must be provided an environment that allows them to make quicker, more informed business decisions to achieve their ...

TIME-TRIGGERED REAL-TIME COMPUTING

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2002
Abstract Time-triggered (TT) distributed real-time computing systems are moving into the mainstream for the implementation of safety-critical applications in the aerospace and automotive sectors. This paper introduces the basic principles of a time-triggered real-time computing system, and elaborates on the benefits that can be gained from the ...

On real-time transactions

ACM SIGMOD Record, 1988
Next generation real-time systems will require greater flexibility and predictability than is commonly found in today's systems. These future systems include the space station, integrated vision/robotics/AI systems, collections of humans/robots coordinating to achieve common objectives ...

Real-time CORBA

IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, 2000
This paper presents a survey of results in developing Real-Time CORBA, a standard for real-time management of distributed objects. This paper includes background on two areas that have been combined to realize Real-Time CORBA: the CORBA standards that have been produced by the international Object Management Group; and techniques for distributed real ...
