Real-time control for transscleral cyclophotocoagulation

Graefes Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 1997
In transscleral cyclophotocoagulation, the surgeon cannot directly observe the applied laser effects. Overdosage, possibly resulting in unwanted pop effects, or underdosage with no therapeutic effect therefore often occur.Laser radiation passing through the sclera and ciliary body is partly reflected from the fundus and can be monitored from outside ...

Pre-identification for Real-Time Control

2009
The paper deals with the algorithm named as pre-identification, which denotes the simple general identification algorithm used for the system identification. The identification is realized before the system is controlled. It can be used in case the controlled system is time-invariant or slightly time-variant. Furthermore, the identified system might be

A Blackboard Control Architecture for Real-Time Control

1988 American Control Conference, 1988
A flexible and powerful expert system framework, called blackboard architecture, is proposed for tackling real-time control problems. It is believed that this blackboard architecture can provide an environment for achieving intelligent control behaviours in AI systems. A brief description of the blackboard architecture is given.

Real-time myoelectric control with an Arduino

2020 27th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (ICECS), 2020
This paper reports the design of a low-cost myoelectric system on the Arduino platform for real-time prosthetic control. It successfully controlled a commercial hand prosthesis to complete multiple grips with the direct controller and the abstract controller with a 250 ms response time.

A real-time expert control system

Artificial Intelligence in Engineering, 1996
A new developed and designed real-time expert intelligent control system (REICS) for industrial process control has been introduced. The global architectures of the hardware and software of the system have been proposed. A multi-level method of knowledge representation based on the combination of frame, production rules and real-time procedures has ...

Real-time optimization flow control

Computer Networks, 2010
In this paper, we propose a dynamic optimization approach to end-to-end flow control in data networks. The objective is to maximize the aggregate utilities of the data sources over soft transmission rate bounds and delay constraints. The network links and data sources are considered as processors of a distributed computational system that has a global ...

Real-Time Issues in Distributed Data Bases for Real-Time Control

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1990
Abstract This paper takes a pragmatic application-oriented view of distributed data bases to be used in Real-Time Process and Manufacturing Control. It acknowledges the strides that have been made in the development of distributed data base techniques in general, but is concerned with the problem of mapping these techniques into the Real-Time Control

Supervisory control and real-time constraints

Proceedings of the International Multiconference on Computer Science and Information Technology, 2010
OPC (OLE for Process Control) protocol was developed as a solution which fulfills requirements of open data integration architecture for industrial control. OPC standard is not primarily intended for feedback control or communication with high-bandwidth hard real-time requirements.

Feedback control for real-time scheduling

Proceedings of the 2002 American Control Conference (IEEE Cat. No.CH37301), 2002
Most real-time scheduling algorithms are open-loop algorithms as the scheduling decisions are based on the worst-case estimates of task parameters. In recent years, the "closed-loop" scheduling has gained importance due to its applicability to many real-world problems wherein the feedback information can be exploited efficiently to adjust task and/or ...

On real-time control tasks schedulability

2001 European Control Conference (ECC), 2001
In general, characteristics of classical control theory and properties of real-time scheduling algorithms may cause unexpected control system responses in the implementation of real-time computer-controlled systems. Revising realtime scheduling properties, we analyse which are the main timing problems that current scheduling algorithms may introduce in
