Most probable seismic pulses in single realizations of two- and three-dimensional random media
Geophysical Journal International, 2001SUMMARY We consider the time evolution of seismic primary arrivals in single realizations of randomly heterogeneous media. Using the Rytov approximation, we construct the Green's function of an initially plane wave propagating in 2-D and 3-D weakly heterogeneous fluids and solids.

Monitoring poisson count data with probability control limits when sample sizes are time varying
, 2013This article considers the problem of monitoring Poisson count data when sample sizes are time varying without assuming a priori knowledge of sample sizes.

Approximation for the probabilities of the realization of atomic bound states in a plasma
Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 1998Abstract A simple analytical approximation for the cumulative of the Holtsmark and Hooper microfield distribution functions, which estimates the probability of the realization of atomic bound states in a plasma, is presented.

On Utility Spaces, The Theory of Games and the Realization of Comparative Probability Relations
1975For a short discussion of expected utility theory let us consider a weakening of the von Neumann/Morgenstern axioms which are from Hausner (1954, pp. 167-180). Hausner calls a system \(\mathfrak{A}\) =〈A, ≼, α〉 a utility space if it satisfies the following properties: (1) The relation ≼ is a linear order relation on A.
